I thought Despicable Me was really funny. I think part of that is because I didn't really expect it to be funny.

When I saw Prince of Persia I liked it but I couldn't help but get annoyed that they didn't use Persian people or at least people who looked more Persian for the roles. Especially the princess! I might have read an opinion like that here or on imdb beforehand so I couldn't get it out of my mind.

are you kidding? ..lol Due Date was hilarious...

I've seen many movies this year and the worst was Due Date. It was really terrible and a waste of time.

Alice in Wonderland and Iron Man 2 had underdeveloped plots. I can forgive them because I admire Depp and Downey a lot and they always portray their roles well.

Great visual effects for Tron: Legacy and Avatar but neither story was impressive.

Inception was fine but not original. It felt like watching the Matrix trilogy or Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

I do not enjoy movies about boxers but The Fighter was a pleasant surprise. I'd choose it over Black Swan anytime. Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg are truly talented actors.

Better ones:

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader- weak denouement though

Prince of Persia- Jake G is good-looking but he didn't belong to the movie

Clash of the Titans- somebody could've performed better than Sam W

Megamind

The Other Guys- the message more than the humor

The rest are not worth mentioning.

"avatar" at the top spot. (counting it this year as that's when it came out on dvd)

I think Avatar counts as 2009 (it won the Oscar for that year, right?). Anyway, I finally just saw it this past weekend and loved it!

I saw the new Harry Potter and thought it was the best of the whole series. I think I liked that one better because they weren't running around magic school, they were actually using their "powers" in RL.

I agree that it was the best of the series so far!

First of all, you went to go see Twilight? Secondly, you thought there was a chance that it could be good? Seriously?

I have to go along with True Grit. We went to it on the 24th and I was blown away. Not a fan of Avatar or Inception. Avatar was too preachy and Inception tried to be too smart for its own good.

Preachy? Huh? It is a science fiction movie, not a political drama or documentary. If you find it preachy or political, I think that you might be reading a bit too far into it.

There are some movies that are full of references and symbolism. Any James Cameron film, will not.

I didn't go see it. Got it from Netflix. Fell asleep a few times. I also fell asleep watching Wall Street 2. I thought I should watch it because everyone said it was the best one. WRONG! They've all sucked.

Same here. The character animation of Gru is the best animation acting I've seen in a long time. That animator deserves an Academy Award all by himself.

I couldn't suspend my disbelief with Inception - just felt too contrived and hokey for my tastes.
