how is open border = illegal immigration?

I see where you are coming from - yes, technically he's not pro illegal immigration as he'd like any possibility of anyone ever immigrating illegally removed by simply making any and all migration from wherever lawful. Welcome 'em all come, he says. As such, you're technically right.

I'd hazard a guess though, that aside from the open borders policy, he'd support the status quo as it stands, rather than doing anything to fix it. He's extolled the virtues of why illegals are here, what they've done for us, etc....what he fails to realize is that the second they become legal, they will serve no purpose anymore.

Serve no purpose?

Serve no purpose?

Yep. The purpose that they serve is that they work for next to nothing. Businesses who employ them do so because they can get away with it. The second all the illegals are legal, they can claim a higher wage, and stop being exploited. So to those who say the illegals should stay because 'they do jobs at a pay no American would' are basing that on a premise of exploitation of the workers in the first place.

Btw, welcome back! Or happy reveal...I dunno what salutation is appropriate.

I would say Steven and Paul represent the two poles of the political spectrum on VJ with Pooky and Mawilson being at the center or maybe just a hair to the right.

I agree that's true on certain topics, but on others Paul doesn't fall in line with what I'd personally consider a complete RWN. No one usually fits into those labels entirely even if people think so.

Even if Steven is supposedly the biggest LWN here, he's good in my book! lol

It appears we have near-consensus on most LWN - Steven.

Now, hive mind, get to work on most RWN.

peejay

Naah. Peejay's only "right" on a few issues (like immigration). I suspect he'd be all for using tariffs to protect American industry, a very lefty/union view.

I would concur with Sousuke and vote for Paul. He is an ideological purist. Anyone who can dance on the corpse of a dead man because his death vindicates his second amendment right has my vote for RWN.
