Hi everyone,

I'm going to file my wife's petition soon. I already have everything i need to do it, but i have a question for anyone who has done this before. in the filing guide for this type of package it says to include some documentation that provides evidence of bonifide marriage. what king of documentation did you guys prided to prove that. My wife is in the Philippines so we don't have a house or properties, she lives in her mom's house. we don't have children either. also this: (Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by third parties havin gpersonal knowledge of the bonafides of the marital relationship (Each affidavit must contain the full name and address, date and place of birth of the person making the affidavit, his or her relationship to the petitioner of beneficiary, if any, and complete information and details explaining how the person acquired his or her knowledge of your marriage) how or where do i get something like this? i know that this has to be done by someone like a family member, but is this a form or just some kind of notarized statement from a family member stating that we are married? If you guys can provide any help with my issue I would really appreciate it. I cant wait to be with my wife in the US. im going to visit her this Jan.

Hi,

I not to long ago sent my I-130 and my husband is living in Nigeria and we also do not own property together or have children together. I had his brother and a friend of mine who attended the wedding write a letter that was notarized affirming that they were witnesses of our marriage as well as our relationship. So providing a letter appears to be the right thing to do that is notarized. I did get a NOA1 for the package submitted so it seems to have been approved atleast at this point. Hope that helps.

Follow the links above. The first is for the I130 and the 2nd offers examples of affidavits

I did not do the affidavit but chose to focus on our relationship and produced travel documents, e-mails, pictures, letters, cards to show the course of our relationship

Good luck
