My wife will NOT buy nor eat anything without the Nutrition Fact label. I'm proud of her knowing how to read those important labels and watch out for unhealthy stuff like "partially hydrogenated oil", "saturated fat" and "Sodium".

Took my fiancée to eat some American cuisine in Saigon. She didn't like pizza or lasagna but she did favor the spaghetti. She's a vegetable and fish eater, she also loves shrimp and crab. Her family are Fresh water Shrimp farmers plus she's about 45 minute drive from the ocean so it's plentiful. I like all the food she eats so if she wants to cook traditional food everyday so be it,if I get hungry for american food I can sneak a burger on the way home from work. A good chance I might loose some unneeded pounds eating my future wife's food. good.gifgood.gif

My fiance is not with me yet, but she totally dislikes pizza. She says that if I ever invite friends over the house to watch football games that we should never buy pizza.

Whenever my wife comments " I don't like this or that food", I respond with the following:

"Sweetheart, you still remember what happened in VN during the early 80's right? Some of the younger generation might not remember that far back then, the new VC regime was so good with food management that the common people had to stand in line for hours for a few loaves of bread or "bo bo" (food reserved for pigs). Whenever rice was available for purchase, a few Kilos is the MAX you could fight with other hungry and angry people waiting in line."

So Honey, you really don't like the taste of this food? You should have been on that boat in the early 80's in the middle of the Pacific ocean for days.

Just remember, life over there in VN is NOT real! Your money will be worth a LOT less once you get back over here. Back to reality, cowboy!

They don't like the fast food at all, I can't really blame them. She cooks everything the way she wants it. She made a trip home in Oct and brought back a TON (14 boxes to the tune of $1500. took me two trips to the airport to get it all home) of stuff to cook with so it's all good now.

Fairbanks has a few Thai restaurants one of which was my favorite for a while, used to go 4-5 times a month with my co-workers. Took Linh there once and she was not impressed at all. I was banned in a very subtle but unmistakeable way.
