So I had to be taken off my husband's insurance because they were gonna charge about $1000 each month which we can't afford, I just moved here and I've no job yet, no green card yet.

We were looking on getting a private insurance plan for me but it looks like non cover pregnancy and delivery and so forth, and I'm not gonna get signed up for that ad wish for the best if I get pregnant!

Does anyone knows a good plan that is actually sane enough and would cover me if I get pregnant?

Depends on what state you're in. Like I know California has a gov't sponsored insurance that is only for pregnant women without insurance or insurance that doesn't cover pregnancy. Its called AIM. Access for Infants and Mothers. It was $15/mo for everything. Its a little known program so if your state has one, it may not be advertised everywhere. Its worth getting insurance but finding a program like that should a little 'surprise' happen. :)

It does depend on the state, but here in Arkansas, Blue Cross Blue Shield had private insurance with a maternity rider, but you must have it for one year before getting pregnant.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

That depends on your personal circumstances; since you are planning pregnancy, I'd probably go for something with low office visit co-pays.
