She could still have come to visit you during the holidays, even though you have a pending application.

With that said, I understand it is frustrating, waiting without knowing for how long is frustrating.

Since you're waiting for NOA2 it's still going to be a while until she has her K-1 Visa in her passport.

Thinking that it would take less than 6 months for the whole process might have been a bit optimistic.

(For me it took Nov '09 -> May '10 = 7 months)

There's still time for her to get on a flight and come here or you could go there?

Just as a note, as this IS possible, for everyone that is spending so much time apart, you can follow the same path we did. Ann came over on a B2 visa, here for 6 months, and we are waiting on the final approval from NVC. We just got our NOA2 date of 28 December (July 12 filers at VSC), and now waiting. I know that it does not solve anything, BUT, it helps in so many different ways. First, we are together. That is the most important, without having to travel all the time. Second, it helps prove that we are together, as even though she can not be on the lease (no SSN) we can do other things, show posts to FB etc showing she is here. Also we go and do everything we possibly can, like go to Caps hockey games, football games etc, which only WE have here. So just a suggestion. She did have to show that she would go back to her country at some point, (she had a lease with her mom, and her job (which she is on a leave of absence right now).....and the Consulate said it was not a problem to get a B2 and have a 129F pending. Maybe it can work for you all too.

Some of our folks cannot come here on B2 visas, as they cannot demonstrate that they have "strong ties" that will take them back to their countries, and I'm talking people that actually have decent jobs!!! I'm telling you, this process is brutal and the ones that have it easy have no idea of how those of us that don't suffer! All of these people thanking "God", and "Allah" for getting them through! I am convinced that not one higher power has anything to do with this grueling process. It appears that "God" has forgotten my address, or at least USCIS has...

We are told we are almost at the end of our journey and have to prepare for this.. How many times do you spend money on transatlantic flights before you are broke? I have spent thousands of pounds over our 3 year relationship and we now have to prepare for me being unemployed for 3 months when I first arrive in the states so I know what you are saying but its not that simple..

I REALLY wish people would stop saying its a bit optimistic thinking it would be less than 6 months.. We were asked to pay $455 for something that has a 5 month timescale.. THe task itself takes 15 minutes and many people have been approved after a matter of weeks so why on earth would we not expect or DEMAND the whole thing was done within the agreed timescale.. How about if I booked my flight to the states for $455 and when I arrived at the airport they said "sorry but we are going to give your seat to the people who booked after you, call back in 30 days and we'll maybe have a flight for you".. The whole thing is a joke.. I paid the money, did my part and they haven't done there's..

Im not ranting at you K&M.. I think Im ranting at the world now!! :crying:

It's 100% political pandering. They feel the need to fill Temp. Protective Visas (3 months and $50, renewable for free) and Work Visas (3 months and $380) and to look 'good' in the eyes of some other country rather then help it's citizens first. I agree that for $455 (up until November) we should havea shorter timeframe, not a 5,6,7 month one just to get approved.

In my travels and I can say that I've been lucky enough to travel to many other countries, the U.S. is the only one that puts non-citizen interests over citizen interests (Again all political).

Right! I see your point. Let's say we go to our Representatives and ask them to help us get the ' B2 ' Visa for our beneficiaries since they ( the senators/congressmen) have aknowledge that the USCSI have failed to keep they words on the 5 months that we have waited for. Plus, since we have jobs here, we can not leave as often as we would like to in order to see our fiance/es. As far as strong ties, we already have something in the making for them.

I too feel all the pain, frustration and feelings of uselessness :angry:

I am a July 17th VSC filer and still nothing. We have called several times, got soooooo many different answers. Basically, each time, go away, go away and go away. We have contacted congressman buthe is juts as useless and we now feel so disheartened with the whole thing that we have come to our wits end.

All this be optimistic, its coming is useless too, maybe i could take that on board at 3-4 months but now its like ive been fu**ing patient, ive paid my dues, weve waited our alloted time. This is so frustrating :(
