Hello, I would like to know how to address the hardship letter in the case of my daughter. I applied for my daughter when I was a resident and she was 13 yrs of age. It took 8 yrs to finally get an interview at the consulate in Juarez. My daughter is now 22, I have become a citizen, and she has a 3 yr old son who is a citizen as well. We spoke to a lawyer who suggested that my daughter claim elgibility for a waiver due to her citizen child. I wanna know how she can go about writing this letter. She has been in the US since she was 5 and has never traveled to Mexico, also the her childs father is not allowing the child to travel to Mexico and she doesnt want to be seperated from him..IF ANYONE HAS ANY SUGGESTIONS I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT.

Hello I need suggestions in how to approach writing a hardship letter. I applied for my daughter when she was 13 and I was a resident. It took 8 yrs for her to finally get an interview in Juarez, Mexico. We spoke to a lawyer who let us know that as soon as my daughter was 18 she was considered an illegal in the US...we were not aware of this fact. So the I-601 waiver has to be filed along with a hardship letter. My daughter is now 22 and Im a US citizen, she has a 3 year old who is a US citizen as well. The lawyer suggested she claim elgibility for a waiver because of her son. She has been here in the US since she was 6 yrs old and has never returned to Mexico. The father of her son is not allowing the child to travel with her to Mexico and she does not want to be seperated from her son. How can she go about writing this letter. I would appreciate any suggestions. thank you.

If you never believed anything in your life, believe this: don't even dream about writing this letter yourself, or you will curse the Lord Jesus Christ for not striking you dead the day you were born. Instead, contact Laurel Scott who can write this letter so perfectly while balancing on a tennis ball on top of the Empire State Building. Her life is dedicated to I-601 waivers. She knows everything about these, even things you even don't know you don't know. Seriously.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Laural Scott offers free immigration chats on Wednesdays, follow the link already provided

DO NOT do this on your own, this is a lengthy process and is MUCH more than a letter.

Having a USC child does not entitle her to anything, sadly, but it may work for the hardship depending on the case which Laural Scott can help you with

Also, immigrate2us.net is a site that specializes in inadmissability

Good luck
