Hey Everyone!

Just wanted to let you all know those who have "heard" that it is forbidden to visit the United States while you have a visa processing....

its not necessarily true. I took a chance and booked a flight to the united states and made it through!

I had read on VJ that it is good to bring all kinds of documents that prove you are tied to your country - which i did....i had a huge binder full of proof.

When I got to the immigration officer, he asked me one question and let me through! So - take a chance and try it....of course its always a 50/50 ....but mostly i think, they will let you through.

:)

I visited my fiancé in the US numerous times after I filed for my K1 and was never asked for anything to prove ties to Canada. Could you possibly have been talking about leaving the US while the AOS is pending?

Remember, Canada has a VERY liberal agreement with the US for travel to the US. Some countires, especially ones that require a visa, it will be next to impossible for a spouse of a USC to get a visitors visa.

ALthough I am happy the OP was able to visit her husband, this is not the case for all countries. Those from other countries should take stock in what is appropriate for their country

Good luck
