btw: ppl had issues with the illegal immigrants rallying for rights that are reserved for citizens, approved residents of the country. there is a huge difference.

Yup only reason people were up in arms.

I would love to see mass muslim protests against these horrible suicide bombers.

don't hold your breath

I'm wondering what it is that people want Muslims to do in terms of speaking out against terrorism. After a quick google search I found tons of articles describing Muslim anti-terror protests. Islam has no "pope" to make a public statement regarding Muslims' positition on terrorism. I personally do not feel that Muslims as a group support terrorism. So what has made people feel that they need more "proof" that Islam does not condone terrorism?

really? Remember the joy of the palestinians when the twin towers collapsed?

Yes, really. And yes I remember. I just don't make judgements about an entire religion based on the reactions of a few, especially when the reaction is based on politics and not religion.

When you compare them to the entire Muslim world, they really are only a few.

"The Palestinians"??? I know Palestinians who were not joyous, who thought it was horrible, who called friends in the United States to share their concern, shed tears seeing what happened. I know Palestinians here who donated money after 9/11.

The problem also lies in that the majority of Muslim mosque don't interact with each other enough to rally up 100k Muslims.

Unless its about cartoons? Or against Western Ideologies?

Whoa, I actually agree with you.

I still think Muslim leaders need to take more of a stand to put a stop to this. Generally.

FYI, you can off as completely racist.
Agreed

Alright, I'll say it again for the cheap seats: Islam is not a race.

Still don't get the point I'm making? Let me spell it out for you: Racisim is based on race - thus the term racism. I have not once, with not a single word referred to any race whatsoever. Hence, that particular comment was plain idiotic. Agreeing to it is quite the same. ;)

Do you truly believe people are outside dancing, EVERY SINGLE MUSLIM IS OUTSIDE DANCING? No, only maybe .000000000000000000000000000000001%, that is the extremists of course.

.000000000000000000000000000000001%? I suggest you take some math classes quickly. You need them!

Exactly. The infrastructure, means and opportunity to gather huge crowds of Muslims protesting something they despise is there. It's been sufficiently demonstrated. Thanks to Denmark.

Now, lets try again: Why are there no mass protest against Islamic terrorism?

Why should there be? Because you falsely assume that if there is no mass protest there is no condemnation?

Did any of you feel the need to protest Abu Ghraib or Haditha? If the Iraqis lump all Americans together as is being done with Muslims, then you should be out in the streets protesting those events because by your reasoning they are destroying the image of America and you are American.

Are American Jews responsible for protesting every uncalled for killing of a Palestinian or Lebanese child because what Israel's policies give Arabs a bad image of Jews?

A bunch of double-standards are being used to imply that non-violent Muslims are somehow not as outraged about terrorism as non-Muslims simply based on our religion.

Simply put, its a load of ####### to make assumptions about what a person supports or cares about because of what they do or do not take to the streets to protest.

The other issue is that when Muslims to protest, the media barely covers it. There have been countless Muslim organizations condmening terrorism, petitions, etc. Do you all really expect a peaceful protest to capture the news the way a violent one does?

No. You actually falsely link what I said with something I did not say. It was suggested that the Muslim community lacks the infrastructure to stage large protest to condemn terrorism. That is nonsense as the huge protests in response to some silly cartoons have shown. That's what I said. ;)
