I was being sarcastic towards Steven in the first post you quoted. :lol: I would never seriously suggest a surprise volunteer clean up party or similar for a kids birthday party. :P Yes it's nice to help, but kids shouldn't be almost tricked into it. lol.

I've narrowed it down to the three venues - a toxic waste dump, an oil slick, or a communist rally. My heart is set on a communist rally, but I think an oil slick would be more PC.

You have whatever party your budget affords. It may mean a few people at the house for a cake and a movie or when my BIL did my sisters party the invite came with plane tickets for out of town guests. Spending money you can't afford to impress people who will gossip about your party once they left if a horrible waste of money. If the child is under 3 they really don't give a darn and the money would be better placed in a college fund.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
