Renting a room allows you to decorate your party room and provide food and drinks to your guests. This is a great opportunity to have a great party at a reasonable rate. Call us for party ideas! Party reservations and room rentals must be made at the Jay Lively Activity Center, sorry no phone reservations. The room rental fee and a $50.00 fully refundable cleaning deposit must be paid at the time of reservation. The cost of skating is $2.75 per child (10 or more children: $2.25/ child); $3.25 for skate rental and $16.75 hr. room rental plus tax. Adult admission is regular rate of $5.25 per adult.

Or how about a party at like a Chuck E Cheese type place? Ball pits and whatnot...those are free, right?

I wouldn't ask parents to pay when invited to a party. If I couldn't afford to pay for the number of guests invited, I'd do something else that I could afford. Something simple can be good too. I don't think it is fair to invite a child to a party and ask the parents to pay, I think it could get messy.

So in your world it is fine to invite 25 kids to cake and ice cream at the ice rink and when that is done it is time to skate you are ok at looking 13 of those kids in the face and saying sorry you can't skate with us because your parents can't afford to pay for it. By the time your kid is 7 they will have parties for 1 because no one will ever show up again, First the 13 kids how can't afford your form of a let the rich kids play party then the other 12 when their parents are disgusted at how you treated the less well off children.

Because it's a room to accommodate an entire class for a party. We have parks out here, but with the current weather conditions, an inside venue would be more practical. IMO (which I realize is not popular), would be to include the entire class, but ask the parents to pitch in for the skating if their child wants to skate in addition to enjoying the party. After hearing the opinions of others here, I'm not going to do that. However, I personally would not feel the least offended if my kid were invited to such a party and I was asked to pay if my child wanted to skate.
