I am in the process of completing the AOS documents for my wife. She came to America via a K1 fiance visa and we are now married. What name should I enter on the I-485 form, the name in her passport, or her new married name? I am guessing I should use her name from the passport since we will also be applying for advance parole later.

Most people use the married name. Put the maiden name in the "other names used" block.

When you travel on AP just put your plane tickets in her maiden name, take a marriage certificate with her and everything will be fine.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

If you file the I-485 in her maiden name you will have problems having everything changed to her married name later.... much better to file in her married name and either get her a new passport or just carry a copy of your marriage certificate with her current passport.....

Follow Anastasia'a advice. My wife wanted to change her last name to mine and we filed the I485 etc. in her 'new' name - it's only drawback is having to get the name changed on SSN later and trying to obtain state IDs but since that's what she wanted, we did it. good Luck
