How long does it take to receive an e-mail from NVC saying our case was sent to consulate after we are approved?

We were approved on August 12 and my fiance didn't get anything from NVC.

He has been calling NVC every night and it is always busy?

Is this normal? I think it is taking so long!

You don't ever get an e-mail from NVC. They'll only send you a letter after having mailed the case out to the consulate. Like I said before, you have to call NVC and give them your NOA1 date. You can call either early in the morning or late at night so you don't get a busy signal.

Also, it may take some time for the service center to send out cases to NVC and it may take some time for NVC to forward them to the consulates/embassies. I believe the mail things out in batches.

Yes Mew, my fiance has been trying every night to call NVC.

Everyday I ask him a about the letter and nothing.

Well, all we can do now is wait and try to call NVC every day.

Well, they send out stuff in batches apparently. Your NOA2 is quite recent, so give it a few days. The best time to call is either early in the morning or late at night. Good luck!

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Seems like many folks are trying to call the NVC lately, and I just read Mew's comment that you have to call the NVC and give them your NOA1. I just want some clarification whether or not it's a requirement to call the NVC after your NOA2....if not, I'd rather not bother them, as I'm busy and I'm sure they're five times as busy.....???? :clock:

It's not a requirement, but you if you have the NVC case number before getting it in packet 3 sent by the consulate, your fiance in Brazil can go ahead and have her medical and send forms and documents asked for in packet 3 before actually having gotten it in the mail. You'll get more details here: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...0De%20Janereiro

How do you know when the approval is sent to NVC

You don't. You have to call NVC after you've gotten the approval and keep checking. Give them your NOA1 number - speak to a live operator.

I got an email reply from NVC a week after I sent them an email at: NVCInquiry@state.gov. I emailed them to verify that my petition had been reapproved and returned to NVC by CSC, as my congressman's aide had told me. I referenced my old case number previously assigned by NVC back in april when the petition was first approved. I don't know if it makes any difference if you are a recalled case or not to email them and get a response. If you are not a recall, you could try referencing your NOA1 receipt #. The NVC response reads as follows:

"Your inquiry has been received at NVC. The NVC has completed processing of the visa petition you mentioned in your inquiry and is forwarding it to the assigned US Embassy for further processing. Further inquiries should be directed to the assigned US Embassy. "

True, you can e-mail them (make reference to NOA1 number, recalled case or not) and they'll reply in a few days. However, you can get even more info if you call.

Like everyone said you can email them (NVC) they will reply it just takes a couple of days. When calling it can be fustrating, but you have to call continually. Eventually you will get thru. The best times to call is when they first open and close to closing time. These are the times when I called and didn't have to wait too long. I had not problem with the customer's service rep. They were kind and answered my questions.

I posted a copy of the letter NVC sent to me once they forwarded my case to the consulate.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!! :thumbs::yes::thumbs:

I got my letter pretty quickly, like 3 days, but there wasn't much action going on when i was approved. I think that is why it was so quick. Hopefully you will get it pretty quick, good luck to you...

Thank you. :)

sometimes I get really worried. My fiance says I worry too much. :)

Well, God is always helping us, so i need to relax and keep trying to call NVC and.. wait. :star:

Our case went too fast that it took less time to get to consulate than the lette from NVC to our house. Approval was on 23rd. NVC got case on 27th. Sent to consulate on 30th. But after that no news since July10th. It is like drought.

Hey there Lisa and Phil,

I was the one who emailed the NVC regarding our case and they emailed me back also giving us the Case Number and telling us that our petition was already sent to Manila Embassy.

I also emailed the emabssy here in manila and they emailed me back on the same day I sent the letter and telling us that they have received the petition and we are on queu for an interview date. :-) I believe my fiance will be receiving a hard copy from NVC end of this week of early next week.

Oh boy it's really exciting to wait for an interview date!!!:-)

GOd bless!!!

yea, it was fast! :)

anyway, is that your baby? what a beautiful baby!!! (L)

I am sorry I couldnt get the stepson thing. Is it reffered to us?

the stepson's thing is to Java. :)

ohh ok. Yes she is our daughter>mine+fince/wife. Thnx for the praising. Good luck in the rest of the journey.

Thank you. :)

hope you get together soon! :star:

Baruti, You can call the NVC and get the new case number. :)

Could someone please advise, once the NOA2 is received, will there be any updates to the NOA1 case #? Can we still check the status of the case online? I heard there will be a new case number assigned at NVC. How do we get that number?

Thanks in advance!

Monica, after you get NOA2, there are no more online updates. Call or e-mail NVC (I think it's better to call, since you can get more info - talk to a live operator) and give them your NOA1 number. They'll be able to tell you whether the petition's there and if so, give you your new case number. They'll also be able to tell when it's been sent to the consulate/embassy.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.
