Where to purchase ACCO fasteners?

I was reading the guide and the tips on assembling the whole package including the use of ACCO fasteners. went to Wal-Mart and another local shop today to search for ACCO fasteners. They didn't have any. I couldn't find them. I will try Office Max and some other stores tomorrow.

I've never used ACCO fasteners before so I don't know what they look like or how to use them. Are the fairly straight forward to use? Any steps on how to use them? (hehe)... If I can't find ACCO fasteners, can I use another substitute? Or are they an absolute requirement? Thanks.

Oh, I see. Hmm, from the looks of it, does it requires two hole punches through each of the papers and then just put each of the papers in between the holders thingy, I assume? If this is the case, how would I be able to punch two holes without damaging the text on the documents or the document itself? Thanks again.

Ahh... but didn't you use them to send your package? Or something else? What else works? Thanks.

It's not necessary to use anything unless your paperwork is unusually bulky or thick. Just use a regular, small binder clip instead - then you don't need to punch holes in your paperwork.

Use ACCO fasteners, or nothing at all. Any office supply story should have them cheap, and a cheap two hole punch as well.

Good luck on your journey!

Alright. I guess it's not so good to use paperclips/binderclips, eh? How would I be able to punch two holes without damaging the text on the documents or the document itself?

OK folks, get over the Acco fasteners. who has stock in this miserable company?

I used a jumbo paper clip. Well, actually, one of those black clips with the two "silver ears".

I did however, make tabs with dividers, at the bottom of the documents.

At the end of the day, it is all about evidence. Get over the "presentation" piece. That is not going to help your case.

It is all about evidence, followed by evidence and further supported by evidence.

Cheers!!

I'm sorry, this is snarky. I'm not usually snarky, but they are called margins. Most documents have them.

No really, you just need to punch about 1/2 inch from the top edge. Most documents don't start until about 1 inch from the edge. Even if you are punching into the letter head you usually won't be punching useful information. I hole punched and acco fastened all of my visa corrispondence. Did the tabs along the bottom too! :D

To make up for being snarky, I just went and pulled out my copy of the I-130 and sure enought the black line box that surround the form starts at 1" from the top. Plenty of room at the top for the acco fastner. :)

Is it just me, or are there others here learning new words: "acco" and "snarky"?

(I've always said this group was educational  )
