I doubt the 'average' American even has a 4 year degree, much less a useful one.

Granted, but an average 4 year useful degree is not out of the reach of the average American...though a lot of people have become convinced that it is...it just takes some sacrifice and effort.

Granted, but an average 4 year useful degree is not out of the reach of the average American...though a lot of people have become convinced that it is...it just takes some sacrifice and effort.

Sacrifice and effort are no longer looked highly upon. Mediocrity and "people

feelings" are what count. Competitiveness has become a dirty word in schools.

No-one loses anymore - everyone's a winner. If everyone gets a prize, where on

earth is the incentive to push yourself to do better next time? What's the

point in even playing?

Sacrifice and effort are no longer looked highly upon.

There are subcultures in this country (native born and immigrant) that do value sacrifice and hard work. It's little coincidence that members of those subcultures predominate in neighborhoods where the 200K+ tend to live.
