Hey guys,

I am from Germany and currently on a J1 Visa and doing my exchange year in OKC, Oklahoma. Now I was planning on coming back to a High school next year so I can finish my Senior year here and graduate.

I have relatives in Texas and they also immigrated to the USA one of them graduated from the UTD and the other one is still attending UTD so I had a place to stay my dad would be able to pay for the school, insurance and the visa and the other payments. So I had that covered is it possible for me to do that? Because after graduation I really want to attend college here too which would probably UTD because I have a few friends there and I really like that school. But also currently my parents are divorcing and my mom doesn't really want me to come back to the USA so at the moment she is not willing to sign any paper work for the Visa however my dad is completely thrilled about my plans and really wants me to go. Do I need both of my parents to sign it or just my dad?

Are there any other requirements or stuff that I need to fulfill and should I start now? Or what is my deadline for all of this?

Go back to Germany and complete the final year and in the meantime before you leave start talking to admission office of UTD and the international student office.

I believe you need parents' signature to get a passport and you already have one so no issues. In a year's time you can probably have your mom on your side if you explain nicely and with reasoning why you want to study in the US.

For deadlines - check out the UTD webpage for international student admissions.

Hey thanks for you reply, well my mom is totally fine with me studying here but she doesn't want me to come back next year which I find kind of odd, since she allows me to go with my father to Jordan.

Ok I forgot to mention it but in Germany I still have to do two years of High school it's the last generation that has to to complete 13 years of school. So back in Germany I still have to attend two years of High school which I think is a waste of time.

Since I don't know how to edit I am posting again sorry :[

Well my wish is to come here again for next year since I am having a really good time here and I am enjoying so many things here. So is it possible to realize my dream/wish ?

You mean after you're done with your program to come for a visit? You're in Visa Waiver Program as a German so you can use that to come visit and stay up to 90 days.

No I mean after I am done with my program I want to attend a High school here to get my Senior year done.

You need to contact your J1 program administrator and see if it is possible. You may need to go back to Germany and get another visa (student F1) and show proof that you'll pay full amount for the school (tax payers pay for school and you as international student need to cover the full cost).

Ok I can pay all of that and stuff like that and everything is covered only my ###### of mom is acting so stubbornly she said if it comes to signing papers she wont do it my dad already promised me that he will do it so I am just worried about her, she could just destroy my whole life.

So I am really hoping that I can keep her out of that and she can disappear out of my life.
