I have a friend of a friend who works for USCIS. My friend gave our case number to her friend, and she reported back the exact words:

I received an email from my friend. She works for Homeland Security/Citizenship. Your wife's process is under the State Department, so she's not able to be involved or even check. Good try though.

We filed our I-130 on November 7 (see our timeline). Question: wouldn't the process still be at USCIS since our I-130 hasn't been approved yet?

11/04/2010: Sent I-130 packet.

11/07/2010: NOA1, Priority Date

11/09/2010: Touched

11/16/2010: I-797C, Notice of Action received

03/15/2011: Touched

04/26/2011: NOA2 - Approved

Trying to get your petition approved sooner through your friend's friend? Don't want to bother to wait, like the rest uf us suckers, uh? I hope it doesn't backfire on you and what you get is a denial or a fine... :whistle:

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

August 30, 2010 - Per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) e-mail, petition received and routed to California Service Center for processing. Check cashed. I-797C Notice of Action by mail (NOA 1) - Received date 08/25/2010. Notice date 08/27/2010.

After 150 days of imposed anxious patience...

January 24, 2011 - Per USCIS website, petition approved and notice mailed.

January 31, 2011 - Approval receipt notice (NOA 2) received by mail. Called NVC, given Santo Domingo case number, and informed that petition was sent same day to consulate.

Called Visa Specialist at the Department of State every day for a case update. Informed of interview date on February, 16 2011. Informed that packet was mailed to fiance on February, 15 2011.

February 21, 2011 - Fiance has not yet received packet. Called 1-877-804-5402 (Visa Information Center of the United States Embassy) to request a duplicate packet in person pick-up at the US consulate in Santo Domingo. Packet can be picked-up by fiance on 02/28.

March 1, 2011 - Medical exam completed at Consultorios de Visa in Santo Domingo.

March 9, 2011 at 6 AM - Interview, approved!

March 18, 2011 - POE together. JFK and O'Hare airports. Legal wedding: May 16, 2011.

Na, my friend simply offered to see if her friend could see where it's at in the process. I doubt any one person at USCIS could move anything along any faster.

Seriously...is it really possible for an I-130 dated November 9 to already be at NVC??? It should still be at USCIS, yes?

Well ill keep my fingers crossed for you that it is at NVC, but I think that would probably be a record!

And for the others, theres no need to make snarky comments - dont pretend that you wouldnt do anything possible to get to your SO as quickly as possible.

I would want that to happen so that future filers have n problems moving along the process...but looking at their past performances it is very unlikely to happen....i dint recv my NOA2 and my case was at NVC...so NOA2 isnt tht big of a deal but yea normally it hud take 3 to 5 months at USCIS

Nothing in the friend's friend e-mail suggests to me that your case is anywhere other than USCIS

Nothing in the friend's friend e-mail suggests to me that your case is anywhere other than USCIS

Your Correct, no possible way this could happen not even if it was a mistake

you have to be approved and a NOIA-2 sent before USCIS would submit your I-130

with approval with out a NOA-2.

Something dont jive some where

Good Luck but I'm sure it will be approved in the near future
