Hi everyone!:) hope you are going to have a wonderful X-mas!

I just want to make sure we are doing the right thing with the "sworn statements" - since our "marriage" is not old enough and we don't have babies :(

here's an example my friend made (names are changed)

" (jessica) is my friend of 18 years. My husband and I were introduced to (john) 4 years ago. We've seen them being in love, caring about each other, and both suffering because of the distance separating them. jessica and john have faught for their love, I've seen them talking over the phone every day and living every minute they could have together. john is taking care of jessica's grandmother that is alone in country-X. My husband and I are now close friends with both Jessica and John. They had asked us to become their Godfather and Godmother for their wedding. Because of the lack of time (Jesica had limited vacation days to spend in Country-X) they only managed to register their marriage. So, hopefully, they'll have their wedding ceremony in an country-X-ian church this summer.

Jessica and John are deeply in love with each other. They deserve to finally be together - they have waited so long.

Sincerely,

Name

address

phone

does it have to be notarized?

there are going to be a few coming from my country - from his parents, our mutual friends.

How many "statements" is ideal amount?

Thank you! :)

It is decent, but you might want to point out things they love to do together and what makes you all such good friends etc.....

Make it very presentable like To whom may concern.....

You can notarize the letter, but highly unlikely it is needed. The only thing I would notarize are copies of government issued documents, our documents that are attached to an i864.

Good Luck!

Thanks a lot! :)))

actually, I cut off the "to whom it may concern" by a mistake in this letter. The actual letter has it.

We are just gonna add the dates, and I never thought about what we like to do together - I have pictures of my friend (who wrote the letter) playin pool with my husband, us in a park, during a family gathering :) i must include these pictures.

thanks for the ideas =)

The only downfall when attaching pictures with this letter is the fact that USCIS uses G-325-A to identify who people are, thus they have no way of identifying who your friends are. Your parents provide the best support letters because it also allows the IO to concur that your parents have accepted your relationship.
