hey all, hope your christmas is festive! i have a lil problem, i don't quiet understand the whole priority date thing. hoping someone with a lil more

experience or intelligence lol....can help me. my priority date for my cr1 visa is jan 2010 does this mean that i will not be scheduled an appointment until

jan 2011? am confused. my case is at the NVC my lawyer did not let me fill out where i was living whe i was 16, so they they had sent back requesting that info plus my husband's 09 tax return, we have submitted those and the NVC have confirmed that they received them, so i take it we are just waiting for visa to become

available correct? based on my priority date do we have to wait until jan2011 ? and will the recent visa retrogression affect my case? thank you all.

You don't have to wait for your priority date to become current. CR1's are immediate relative visas. A visa number was available for you as soon as the petition was approved. Once your paperwork is finished at NVC then you'll be able to apply for a visa.
