06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

The VSC has awakened from its Rip Van Winkle-like torpor, at least temporarily. ROC approval letter dated 6-30-11, received 7-5-11. Green card is presumably in the mail. Hoorah, si man! One more step after this for Mrs. T-B., si man.

I must admit though, I do feel a twinge of jealousy, ja man. ;)

This is completely natural, yes hombre. When I got the letter, it obviously had no green card in it, and all that I could think was "RFE, aargh man!" I was very surprised at the actual contents, si man.

This proves, however, that the VSC is awakening from its slothful torpor. I was recently informed by a very knowledgeable source that the VSC was taking about 6 months to process ROC files, and ours took 5.5 months (actually, less), so everyone else from January isn't far from approval, no man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Finally got some time to update my status... having a 2 month old baby leaves with little or not time for anythng.... I got the approval letter on June 27, when I filed for AOS I didnt get an approval letter so as soon as I saw the envelope I swore it was a RFE... huge relief when I saw it was an approval, I will see you all in the Citizenship forum in Nov or Dic

Finally got some time to update my status... having a 2 month old baby leaves with little or not time for anythng.... I got the approval letter on June 27, when I filed for AOS I didnt get an approval letter so as soon as I saw the envelope I swore it was a RFE... huge relief when I saw it was an approval, I will see you all in the Citizenship forum in Nov or Dic

Hi,

I couldn't help my curiosity I noticed in your timeline that you filled N-400 for citizenship. Are you counting 3years(-90 days) from the date you got you green card or from the day of marriage. I believe the true counting of 3 years for citizenship start from the date we get the green card, please someone correct me if i am wrong.

Yes, if you're filing base on marriage it is 3 years from when you get your Green Card, but my DH joined the military, which made him elgible to file for citizenship early.

Note to Yurika (Y-Bone): Green card physically received today (July 7), si man. And it truly is green in color.

Hey TBoneTX - congrats to you!..........ummm.... did your knowledgeable source also tell you why VSC is taking so freakin long?? :bonk: thats the questions i want answered!

D-Bone: The VSC has been moving its physical quarters from St. Albans to Essex, Vermont, a few miles away. The old location was essentially an old warehouse that was inadequate. As draining and hectic as it is for regular people to move from one residence to another, one can imagine the mammoth complexity of moving an operation the size of a USCIS processing center, si man.

The source (reliable indeed) says two other things: ROC petitions have been taking about 6 months at the VSC (ours was processed in not quite 5.5 months), and the workers at the VSC are usually told to concentrate on one type of application at a time. This is perhaps why there are flurries of approvals in one petition or application category all at once, and then nothing for quite a while. It's one way of doing things, I guess, si man.

We're seeing an acceleration in the January ROC approvals, so everyone else here shouldn't have long to wait, no man. :thumbs:

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
