Actually I think you have to wait for the biometrics appointment letter to be able to start tracking your case...

Hi all January filers :-)

We filed our I-751 january 4th. An the other day we received the NOA. Now I am curious if this is the same NOA that everyone else got?

It says my conditional resident status is extended for a period of one year.......and so on.

Is this the same letter the rest of you received?

Hi!

I just wanted to let you know to change our date mailed to 1/18/11....we got backed up and finally got it in. Good thing I checked the website to see if the application changed, because it did this week!! Glad we didn't just send in what we had filled out before! Now, hopefully it's all correct and I didn't make any mistakes on that application.

If you were to be traveling out of the US, trying to get a job, or being pulled over by the police or something else, and you didn't have that letter while your card was expired (currently it takes about 4 months to get the ROC done, so most likely the card expires before you have a new one), then you would be in trouble. This letter basically prevents that.

It kind of means you have nothing to worry, even if your greencard expires for a month or even two. They could give 6 months extension, but what if your petition fell behind the central heater, or someone spilled coffee on it, and it would be delayed a month or so? The year is more secure :)
