This is a boon of sorts. When you respond to the RFE, you can add more "evidence of bona fide relationship" that the COs at your embassy will eventually see.
Lisa, focus on this advice. Keep the faith, si man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

TracyTN, and "Yankee Love":

Your replies make me want to think there is a reason not to trust forums like this, you must have way too much time on your hands to be commenting on something you have no idea of, and why people not need air any grieveance.

Sorry, but I have been around message boards for many, many years and learned the hard way not to put my personal business out there for public consumption. What I said to you, and what Yankee Love has said, is QUITE tame in comparison to what happened to me. I would never actively search for you on the internet only to find photos of you and your fiance, then deface those photos, post them here and laugh about it.

If you were just having a bad day with your fiance - say so. Otherwise, the only choice we have is to take your comments at face value because we can't mind read.

I have also learned that you must unfortunately have a thick skin to post on a message board. At least one as active and full of various opinions as this one is. Just don't ever venture into 'Off Topic' or the political forum here or you'll likely turn blue.

You're right - and I promise, that will serve you well in the long run around these parts!!

I sincerely hope for the best for you and your fiance. This RFE is just a minor speed bump in the road course of your lives.

I hope so...Up to this point Vinko and I were so strong, especially him, but the stress is getting the better of me. I become so afraid that we will not be able to live our lives the way it needs to be. He needs to come here. My children are here, my career is here, all the resources are here. Not that I like to talk about God, but if God cannot see that this needs to happen, well, I've been proven yet again that there is not one. A real God would not want to see a loving mother separated from her children.

I am not a religious person, so I can't speak to a lot of that. But I do know that as long as you follow the rules to the best of your ability (regarding everything in this visa process), you have a better than fair chance of being able to live the lives you want to live. Focus on that now, and let the rest take care of itself.

You're taking a good step in that direction simply by being here, reading, asking questions and educating yourself on the process. There is nothing more valuable than that. I had read and researched the entire process before my (now) husband got here. We went from K1 visa to citizenship without so much as an RFE - the lesson being, arm yourself with knowledge! :)
