oh man :(...hang in there! It may be for something as small as a missing signature or unticked box... Once you reply to the RFE you should be approved in a couple of weeks or so. Good luck!

Atleast you know they are doing or were doing something with your case? instead of wondering if it was just sitting in a box.

This is a boon of sorts. When you respond to the RFE, you can add more "evidence of bona fide relationship" that the COs at your embassy will eventually see.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I'm not thinking positive at all about this...really very worried, especially since I haven't received the damn thing. Plus, when Vinko tried to apply for a tourist visa this past February, he was denied for not being able to show "ties to return to home country", because his work situation is not one that would be able to prove that. I just know what it feels like to be "denied", and had very strong fears that this would happen yet again. You find out you really love someone and then to find out you can't ever be with them, it doesn't want to make me live...

as long as you meet all the requirements(like meet within 2 years & both of you are free to marry) and you send in all evidences. i dont see any reason of the USCIS will deny your applications.

Yeah...but who knows what the evidences are???? And I sent in information demonstrating we met in the last two years. I sent in a buttload of pictures, with friends, with family...everything! My dated boarding passes. I didn't send in copies of my passport pages with the stamps that I visited. When I saw people posting about that, it made me very nervous...I just want the damn letter so I know what I have to do, or what I'll have to let go of...

With my luck as of late it probably is a big something. I would love to be able to report it was just a little missing something, that would delight me to no end...but because of what I've already experienced, I have a feeling it is something big that I have no control over, I am destined to be unhappy...and I'd rather die than be so...

I got an RFE for my Advanced Parole application. Why? Missing pictures... they probably were misplaced by someone on their end since I know for a fact they were in there when I mailed everything in. Got some more, mailed them in and a couple of days later, everything was back on track.

Like everybody else said, your RFE might just be for some silly thing and until you get the letter, there is nothing you can do about it. So, enjoy the fact that you know your application is "alive" and not sitting in the bottom of a drawer!

Good luck!

I hope you aren't serious about the dying part. I'm frustrated as heck with the USCIS and all its idiocy. But, in the end, if it doesn't work out, I'll just move back to Mexico with my wife. If you love your husband so much that it's killing you, I'd suggest just ditching the states and going down south. America's not that much better. It certainly isn't worth being depressed over.
