Hi VJ

I went for my interview this morning and have had to go back due to 2008-2009 tax papers issue. Everything went OK though. I had a nice conversation with the CO who happened to have spent 2 years in Indonesia where we got married while missionaries there, and so our conversation was entirely on our time in Indonesia and where my wife and I lived, plus our favorite Indonesian food and stuff. The CO said he would have approved my visa had it not been the tax papers which need to be put on file and stuff. I have a second interview on January 12 just to bring the tax papers.

January is almost here.make sure u get the tax papers in time.what questions were u asked?good luck on your second interview.

The only question was how we met. The CO was OK with the documents proving our relationship…with the Birth Certificate of our son sitting in front of him along with a bunch of pictures and affidavits from friends and family from the US and Ghana, who wouldn’t! He told me he doesn’t need anymore prove of our marriage… just need the tax papers. We’re working on it right away to ensure it’s ready way before January 12.

Thank you all of you for your encouragement and support! I'm sure we'll not have any issue because he returned most of our documents to me - photos, call records, transfer records from my bank for child support, many other stuff. He said he just needs the tax transcript....Yea it was a blessing to have to go back in January. CO said "I could have asked you to come tomorrow but it's gonna take some time for your wife to organize those papers as well as to send to you; what about January 12? I think it's gonna give you enough time to bring the tax transcript."

Oh yea we like nasi goren a lot...lol. CO recognized most of the places we took photos in Indonesia. We were eating in one of the pics and he said "This is Jakarta; I can see from the food and the place." Lol. I believe we'll have our visa in the next interview after presenting the tax paper.

God bless us all!

Good luck with the second interview! We had the same issue with tax papers. But everything was fine when my fiance brought those in. they didn't ask him any more questions or interview him again, they just took the papers and told him they would call when the visa is ready.

Jen and Babs

Psalm 20:5

1/01/2007 - First date

2/04/2010 - I-129F sent

2/08/2010 - NOA1

3/30/2010 - NOA2 Approved!!

4/07/2010 - NVC received

5/12/2010 - Packet picked up/interview date assigned

10/25/2010 - Finally back in Ghana to visit!

11/01/2010 - Interview--mostly positive, but consular officer requires cosponsor

11/24/2010 - 3rd appt.--Finally have all documents in. Result-Administrative Processing! Consulate says they will contact my fiance

05/18/2011 - Admin processing complete! Babs is asked to appear at the embassy on the 25th.

05/25/2011 - En route to the embassy, Babs is robbed on the roadside. His passport and other papers are all stolen. After filling out a police report, he arrives at the embassy a little late, and they allow him in to speak to the CO, even though he has no valid ID. Thank God! The CO gives him another appointment on June 15th, to bring a new passport and also an updated police certificate.

06/14/2011 - New passport (expedited) ready.

06/15/2011 - The CO finds a missing stamp on the new passport. Sends Babs back to the passport office and tells him to return in the afternoon. All is taken care of. VISA APPROVED!!!! PRAISE GOD!!!!

06/24/2011 - Visa pick up date--told to return on the 30th.

06/30/2011 - Babs returns but doesn't get the visa. Back in AP!

10/05/2011 - Embassy brings Babs back with updated medical. Approved!! CO sets pick-up for only 2 days away, so as not to delay him any longer.

10/07/2011 - VISA IN HAND!!
