has anyone had this happen or understand what is happening ... my fiance went for his interview several weeks ago and was told to come back in 3 weeks because he needed to get his passport corrected as they had his name mixed up and they wanted more proof ... i send them all sorts of proof already .... so he went back last week for the follow up and told him to email in 4 weeks to see status of the case and it could be up to 6 mos before his visa is granted or denied i dont understand what is going on ... any info would be appreciated as my atty and the state dept arent very helpfull

Yes, it sounds like AR (Administrative Review). Was he given something (a slip of paper)at the end of the first interview?

Sometimes "name checks" can take months to do and from your description of the circumstances the consulate appears to have ordered a "name check" as a result of the mix-up of the names in his passport.
