Help me please...They have me in Standard processing for almost 2 months now awaiting an interview that has not been scheduled. I called USCIS and they wont help me because they said that the time could vary. Would an infopass appointment work? And is anyone else experiencing this and what did you do?

I am waiting on my NOA2 on my I-130.

Processing for USCIS is about 5 months. You still have a few more months to wait

Once USCIS approval then you go onto NVC, then the interview for the visa - at your home consulate

Assuming you are following standard routes, which is difficult to tell because you offered no insight to your case and no timeline, you're looking at still quite a few months

Good luck

PS we waited 178 days for our NOA-1. 10 months for the process to complete totally

USCIS
August 12, 2008 - petition sent
August 16, 2008 - NOA-1
February 10, 2009 - NOA-2
178 DAYS FROM NOA-1

NVC
February 13, 2009 - NVC case number assigned
March 12, 2009 - Case Complete
25 DAY TRIP THROUGH NVC

Medical
May 4, 2009

Interview
May, 26, 2009

POE - June 20, 2009 Toronto - Atlanta, GA

Removal of Conditions
Filed - April 14, 2011
Biometrics - June 2, 2011 (early)
Approval - November 9, 2011
209 DAY TRIP TO REMOVE CONDITIONS

Citizenship

April 29, 2013 - NOA1 for petition received

September 10, 2013 Interview - decision could not be made.

April 15, 2014 APPROVED. Wait for oath ceremony

Waited...

September 29, 2015 - sent letter to senator.

October 16, 2015 - US Citizen

Exactly where are you at in the process and what process is it that you're going through? Are you the petitioner or the beneficiary?

It sounds like you were sent a notification (as the petitioner) that you would have to be interviewed. Is this correct?

If not, and you're just waiting for your NOA2 for the normal I-130 IR1/CR1 process...well, it's only been two months. If you bothered to read any of the other posts in the forums, you'd realize that people very seldom receive NOA2 after only 2 months. 3 - 5 months is more likely, with the norm being closer to the 5 month or greater mark.

It's possible I'm completely off-base here and misunderstood your question...a little more information in your profile and timeline would be helpful.

If by the above, you are saying you received a notice that your case was transferred to a local office for "standard processing" that means your case is taking anything but a normal path. Usually this happens when USCIS has a reason to clear something up with you in person before making a decision on your petition. Most often, the questions are about your own (the US Citizen's) citizenship status or some other previous immigration issue. I'm speculating you were not born in the USA.

If, on the other hand, USCIS just told you the case was still in the standard processing time frame, disregard the above paragraph and simply wait to do anything until six months after you filed the petition or the approval comes through, whichever is first.

I am a USC. Its been over 6 months since we filed a I 130 and the beneficiary is outside of the United States. It seems as though it is not a normal path because of this interview I have to do in order to get a NOA2.

pushbrk- Yes my I-130 was transferred to a local office. But I still have not heard from them.

If your I-130 was actually transferred to a local office, you wait to hear from them. It MIGHT help to make an infopass appointment but the transfer indicates something is amiss. You got a transfer notice. What does it say, exactly?

pushbrk it says:

"Preliminary processing of the above application or petition has been completed, and it has been transferred to the USCIS office.

(Local USCIS Building)

Telephone:8003755283 <---They put this even though it is USCIS #.

That office will notify you when they schedule an interview on the application or petition. Any further inquiries should be made to that office."

- I have seen other people going through this and they say anywhere from 2 weeks to several months but no one ever updates!

Do you know if there is any other way to contact the local offices?

Yes, that sounds like the kind of transfer I mentioned above, where the petitioner will be interviewed. They call this "standard" but it is far from usual. An infopass appointment will get you into the local office to ask questions but I have no idea whether it will help to speed up the process.
