Expedite and I-130 approved!!

great news! congrats! we've expedited through NVC as well. it took us 8 days from the date when the case # was generated until i received an email saying they will be sending our case to the consulate. i called the consulate yesterday for the first time but they only have our case that was sent electronically. they are still waiting for the actual documents via air mail. i was informed to call next monday or tuesday to schedule an interview at the earliest time slot for january. we didnt have to request for expedite with the consulate. we were approved for expedite in our NVC stage because the consulate gave them the approval to expedite it. I sent an email to NVC, NVC forwards it to the consulate and after a few days consulate approved it :dance:

We had our NOA1 on November 16th and have just found out from a Tier 2 we got the approval last friday after my wife faxed her doctors letters on December 10th!!

I can't believe how quick that was! They said our NOA2 is in the mail.

My Wife and I are so friggin relieved.

I would like to thank everyone that helped us, and a special big thanks to Richi&Jenny!!

Nice of you to ask though! Since you're here, might as well use your wisdom again! I realise we should email the expedite request to NVC and attach PDFs of the supporting documents, Don;t have a clue what email address to send it to though, or what to put in subject line or in main body of email

Subject line: 'Attn: PI Supervisor Sue - Case Number - Beneficiary name - DOB'

At the top of the email write 'Urgent Expedite Request & Supporting Documents attached'

List all of the supporting documents you have attached as pdf's.

Include both petitioner and beneficiary details.

Letter of explanation as to why expedite is requested.

We received the NOA2 in the mail yesterday . It's abit of an extra comfort that we've seen the approval in writing.

We're still waiting for the NVC to assign a case number to us. It should be any day now..

Im intrigued as to whether they will expedite you once you put in the request, straight to the embassy (like they did with our case) OR do what they did with Loto - process at the NVC but complete the final processing at the embassy.

Ive got a hunch that it will be the former. Which I think will make it much quicker for you as I think its highly unlikely they will refuse the expedite request. Once the NVC does get the embassy's approval to expedite, its a very simple procedure. All you have to get the wife to do is send the AOS package to you. For peace of mind thats much better as its a nightmare worrying about your vital documents winging their way across the Atlantic! At least the AOS forms can be duplicated much easier. For me that was the worst part of the journey!

Also, Im not sure if I told you - but when you call the embassy (the expensive line) you only need to do that once to get the 'CIU' number that you need to email the embassy in future to get your questions answered quickly. Once you email them using that number, you can respond to their direct responses to your email 'conversation' style.

You dont need to do what I did and call the embassy to get the CIU number every time you want to ask a question! It becomes a little expensive.

Yeah, we're hoping everything will be transferred straight to the embassy, sounds easier to me. Can't say i'm looking forwards to the medical, paying £200 for a nude exam isn't my idea of fun, but I guess it must be done lol

Quiet mate, not looking forward to getting out to the snow on the east coast either!!

The medicals not too bad, just make sure you have your jabs up to date before you go - cos they really sting you there, 30 odd quid a throw for one injection. Luckily mine was all up to date so I was all set.

Its not a totally nude exam. First you go in and have the chest x ray in a seperate room. thats ok. Then you go back in the waiting room til you're called. Then the dr calls you in. Height weight eyesite etc, then lay on the medical-bed type thing and presses on your stomach, back, pulls the curtain and tells you to strip to your undercrackers. SHE ( i know - ithought #######)! then gets you lay back on the bed, takes your blood pressure, takes a blood sample - then lifts up your undercrackers and has a look at your Jacksons.

Then its over!
