San Diego and the Bay Area are like those rednecks who have this illogical hatred of New York City. The bay area are smug hippies who can't go without their macbook pro, and san diego is filled with yuppies who got tired of commuting.

Back on topic. I don't see the rationale in a San Francisco to Los Angeles HSR. I think the money would be better served having shorter HSR lines that go from outlying communities into S.F., and L.A.

The only other line that I would thing would be justified is L.A. to Vegas. They've been promising that one for decades now.
