hahah i'm sorry tim & beth, immigration have scared me too much and this has made us sooper paranoid. Thanks for the positivity tho.. they can't keep a married couple apart right, surely theres some human rights issues there.

They generally aren't that evil . So long as you have no serious criminal background, and you don't have a communicable disease you will do just fine. Stop your fretting try to enjoy the time you have with your new bride and get to looking at the forms and information you will need. The forms aren't much more difficult than a job application.

Yes, people have been denied a K3 visa. There are a number of things spelled out in the INA that makes a foreigner excludable from the USA, among them a relationship that has been entered into for the purpose of evading US immigration laws.

This does not mean that a married couple is denied the ability to see each other.

Being married to an American does not entitle you to a visa of any kind. It simply gives your wife options on how she might petition on your behalf.

There is always the possibility that you will be denied, for a variety of reasons. As Yodrak says, if they suspect you entered a marriage to obtain a visa, you'll be out. And yes, people have been denied for this reason. Besides immigration fraud, other deal breakers include having previous convictions, serious health issues, undesirabe political activities, and a few more.

If you got married on the spur of the moment, you should have no trouble going home and waiting for a visa like most people here. But if you assumed marriage gave you immunity so you could stay in the States guaranteed, you couldn't be more wrong.

I know of a lady that got denied Ir1.

reason : document manipulation of wedding paper and marriage fraud.

I don't think, US Embassy denies visa to a genuine couple, though they can delay issuing the visa for further investigation. There are some red flags for the Consular Officer which was posted somewhere in this website.

1. A very brief courtship followed by a plunge into matrimony;

2. A marriage ceremony arranged only a short time after petitioner arrives in the beneficiary’s country and they meet for the first time;

3. No common language;

4. Petitioner resides with family members of the beneficiary in the US;

5. Petitioner is employed by or has a business relationship with a relative of beneficiary;

6. Petitioner submits phone records that show he uses a residential phone number that is listed in the name of another person.

7. US divorce followed very quickly by an engagement to foreign beneficiary is often a red flag for consular officers.

8. There is little or no documentary evidence of the relationship prior to the actual engagement.

9. Long gaps of time between the petitioner & beneficiary being together in person.

10. Failure to disclose previous marriages;

11. Failure to disclose previous petitions filed on behalf of other beneficiaries.
