I am not sure where to post the question but if it is not the right forum, can the moderator place it in the right forum. I am a graduate student on F1 visa and got married in May 2010. My wife is a US citizen and planning to file for my green card application. She is supposed to fill I-130 and I-485. There is concurrent filing option and my question is do F1 status qualify for it. I have my SSN and residing in US since Aug 2008. She works but does not make much so that she can sponsor me by herself. Her parents are willing to be my co-sponsor.

Can anybody tell which forms have to filled and what proofs have to be furnished along with them?

Follow this guide.

Since your in the US, and married to an USC - you can file both at the same time.

The guide will tell you what forms you need, and each form has it's own unique set of evidence required.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS
