We never received a packet 3 either, luckily for us London doesn't send anything we can't download ahead of time. All he got was a letter stating (in 1 sentence) that he should schedule a medical appointment (which he already did weeks prior).

We sent in everything the minute I confirmed his "packet 3" was sent out over the phone. He never received anything physically or electronically) other than that one thing, and they confirmed they received our forms back so I have no idea what's going on. We're waiting on his medical results to be sent to the embassy, so after I give them time to do that (a week or so), I'll call again to get an update. I hope we did it right.

We wil be mailing everything to the embassy very soon. Thankx for all the help and support :) I will be posting another topic soon to make sure we have everything we need. I can't wait to have my best friend and the love of my life in my arms. I don't care if anything gets delayed a bit as long as he gets here SOON! If he gets denied and I have to go through this process over again as husband and wife I don't know if I could handle it without a shrink! LOL I feel so lucky to have found someone who completes me and makes me so happy :) I truly believe God has his hands in this. I wish for everyone the very best in this business of long distance love. MERRY CHRISTMAS

I thought so... The instructions reads... "complete and mail" the forms.

UR right. I was told by someone on JV I could just e-mail DS-230 for interview scheduling, but I am just going to mail ALL the paperwork to the embassy.

Nicole.. I'm not sure how far your fiance' lives from Kingston... but I've even heard that people hand deliver them since the mail is soooooo slow. That way he can get a receipt for the paperwork he submits in packet 3 (of course, photocopies should be made just in case). Better safe than sorry.

Hope this helps.. and good luck to both of you!!! :D

He lives in St. Mary, about 2 hours from Kingston. It may be a good idea to have him take everything there himself. I'm going to talk to him 2maro and see what he thinks about hand delivering the paperwork.

ok so I'm still waiting for Packet 3 and I emailed the embassey and I haven't gotten a response as yet. Does this mean I can just have my fiance fill out the forms needed if I know what they are and send to embassey? Also, all the back and forth above is confusing because there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer. Doesn't the forms have to be filed online? When they say send original form, is that a print out of forms done online?

I'm sorry that you haven't recieved packet 3. It may still come, you may have to contact someone to get it, or you could go off of what I got for packet 3. The 4 forms have to be filled out online and printed out. The paper he must fill out and take to the medical must be printed out. I would print 2 copies of the 4 forms and 2 copies the the paper he needs for medical. On top of mailing the 4 forms out you must send originals of the documents asked on the DS-156k.(police certificate, birth certificate ect.) If the forign fiance(e) has never been married he/she must send a non-impediment also. Then embassy will go over all of your documents and tell you what you will need for the interview. This is different from the past. Before one only had to send in DS-230pt.1 to recieve packet 4. Now they want everything before hand. Hope this helps :), and I could still be wrong, but this is what I got from asking and surfing VJ, my packet 3, and a fried who just went through the k-1 process.

It's true that is what happened to us. The lady told us she is e-mailing packet 3 and that's what we got. I have everything together that he needs for the interview and it will be a big pain to make copies of all this stuff. The proof for my I-134 is 2 inches thick. i hope that things haven't changed starting with us :bonk:

yes it's new, once u put a email address on the application and they confirm the email address, packet 3&4 will b emailed to you.

Dont send everything, just fill out the DS-230 prt1 and MAIL it to them, they will use that to set the interview date and send you the letter to set up the medical appointment. They did the same with me only got a email after i inquired how come i havent gotten my packet 3, they said they sent it 6 weeks prior but they will resend it and only thing i need really from it was the DS- 230 to fill out and sent to them everything else is online and to be taken to the interview.

So dont worry they arent trying to trick you, and this process isnt new that happened to me from september
