I got back from spending 3 months with Nattoy in Jamaica a few weeks ago. It was wonderful to beable to be with him in his home country. At firt I was going to stay with him until his interview, but we both decided it would be better for me to be in the States to make sure everything goes smoothly with the paperwork. We were waiting for our NOA2. once I retured to the states. I never check the mail, but one day decided to check in and inside was an approved NOA2!!! GREAT FEELING! Then later Nattoy got a phone call from the Kingston embassy that verified his e-mail address. She said that she was e-mailing him packet 3. The problem is this was our packet 3.....

Please complete the following forms and mail them into the Embassy so that an interview appointment can be scheduled for you.

That is all we got!!!! Have the rules changed?? The person who e-mailed us packet3 was email- morrisnm@state.gov. I was informed by someone who recently went through the interview that I can e-mail them DS-230 for an interview. Do I e-mail this morrisnm@state.gov? How can I e-mail it if it won't let me save it? Do I scan it and then e-mail it? I'm getting everything together. I just don't know if I should do what the e-mail said or try and do what everyone else says is the right thing to do? I'm thinking to e-mail the DS-230 once I figure out how, and also mail them everything else like the e-mail said. i also e-mailed kingstonivinfo@state.gov for help. I'm freaking out at the verge of tears because were so close and i just don't know what to do. I wanted him here for some of January at least due to a special time for me :(

It's true that is what happened to us. The lady told us she is e-mailing packet 3 and that's what we got. I have everything together that he needs for the interview and it will be a big pain to make copies of all this stuff. The proof for my I-134 is 2 inches thick. i hope that things haven't changed starting with us :bonk:

According to the email that you posted above, they are asking you to send in only those forms that they requested. Everything else, you'll have to hold onto until the interview. You can download the forms that you need from the DOS website; they might even be posted on the Kingston Embassy website. The DS-156 has to be done electronically and then printed out so that it will have the barcode on the form. I don't know if you can submit them electronically to Kingston but we can and I did to Bogota. Take everything else to the interview.

I'm sorry they were so sloppy in sending you the information. Unfrotunately, this is something new and no one can tell you what you should do. I would suggest completing the forms, making copies (at least two) of everything and then send the information back as requested. It says to send the docs back, not to email them back so I do not think they are processing electronically. Also, send another email to Kingston Embassy. It may be slow, but I believe they are pretty good about writing back. Good luck.

Ok so here is the scoop. We have to send everything in as original. Everything that we would take to the interview. Then they will tell us what we are missing and to bring to the interview in packet 4. We should have got instructions but it is just unfortunate and some people get nothing for packet 3. We are doing 2 sets of everything so he can bring to the interview.

Nicole.. I'm not sure how far your fiance' lives from Kingston... but I've even heard that people hand deliver them since the mail is soooooo slow. That way he can get a receipt for the paperwork he submits in packet 3 (of course, photocopies should be made just in case). Better safe than sorry.

Hope this helps.. and good luck to both of you!!! :D

ok so I'm still waiting for Packet 3 and I emailed the embassey and I haven't gotten a response as yet. Does this mean I can just have my fiance fill out the forms needed if I know what they are and send to embassey? Also, all the back and forth above is confusing because there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer. Doesn't the forms have to be filed online? When they say send original form, is that a print out of forms done online?

I haven't gotten to the packet 3 portion of the process yet, but I wouldn't send anything to the embassy until they request it. If you email forms to them.... they won't be considered original as they won't have your authentic signature on them. The "original" is anything with your handwritten information/signatures on it... not photocopies.

My fiance' will not email anything to the embassy. He is planning to hand-deliver or to use an expedited mailing source (DHL or Fedex) to get it to Kingston as fast as possible.
