Waiting for interview date?

Hello,

There is a huge rumor that NVC schedules immigrant visa interviews only in the second week of each month. Even when I called NVC after my case was completed the operator told me that I will have to wait until the second week of January for my interview date. But I have seen many VJ member who got interview date on 11/30 for following month which is the last week of the month. So I want to make sure with you guys if you know somebody whose interview date was scheduled in the last or first week of the month please share your time line.

Not all embassys do this. Some do some don't. Depends on the country and what their embassy does for shedualing.

It is true that NVC schedules the interviews. However, NVC schedules the interviews all month but the interview dates are "released" typically on the 15th of each month. That is why we say, when you get your SIF wait about a week and then call, call, call. I called three straight days until on the third day they had my wife's date scheduled.

Embassies do not schedule the interview. It's NVC who schedules the interview based on Embassy's capacity. That's what my embassy told me when I emailed them. Thanks for your input though.

Wayne and Claudia, as I mentioned above I have seen many VJ members getting their interview date during the first two weeks of the month and some also got during the last week of the month. I am lil confused here

We interviewed in 2009 but from my timeline you can see that I received notification of my interview at the end of the month for an interview 6 weeks later. In fact the night before I received the interview e-mail I called NVC and was told to wait until the middle of the next month for scheduling to begin again.

So basically it should be understood that NVC also schedules interview the last week of a month, right?

they schedule them on an ongoing basis. They "release" the dates officially once a month, the 15th.

Can't agree with this. As I told you some VJ folks got their interview scheduled during the first week of the month.

Ukraine is surely different they only have a 4 to 6 week

waiting peroid for interview dates after they get paper

work from NVC. That what i was told my the KIev US Embassy.

So do you mean they schedule them all month, and if you keep calling them, you can get your date as soon as it's scheduled...otherwise, you won't find out until around the 15th of the month? Good to know--thanks!!!

That's exactly what I mean. It may be possible for them to release them earlier, but the normal is the 15th of the month.

my case was completed on december 17 so i have to wait until the 15th on jaunary to get my interview shedule or can i get before

If they have a cancellation they will fit you into the schedule if

they have an openning available for your interview. But you have

to call each day.
