hello fellow members,

Thanks for all your post and comments, my wife had her second interview today, she was initally told to provide my marriage certificate from my previous marriage, and when she went to the US embassy in lagos, she was just issued the AP slip, saying that they will contact her.

My question is that, ..is it an AP on my behalf, or AP on her behalf... I mean.. is it an investigation on my behalf, or on her behalf? what generally happens in the AP process? I m currently serving in the US military, - Navy, i was thinking of emailing the US consulate because I m about to go for deployment next year, will that really help?

Thanx...

If you are about to go to directly deployment to a combat zone, by all means send the consulate a copy or your orders.

AP could really mean anything, back ground checks etc. Sadly, Lagos is an excpetionally difficult consulate to deal with.

Good luck

AP is popular recently. They are trying extra hard to make sure they check things out. If you look at the number of fraudulent marriages that slide through some consulates it isn't a surprise. Unfortunately we all pay the price. Out of Lagos and with a female beneficiary it is usually 2 weeks - 2 months.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Thanx canadian, but the Lagos IV doesn't accept attachments, but I have already sent them an email, stating that I have to go on deployment by next year July.

Thanks a lot.

Hmm... thanks a lot though, I m still trying to console my wife, as I will be travelling home next week, thinking that we will be coming together, but it is well though... thanx a lot once again.
