She will not be able to fly back with him unless she intends to remain indefinitely and wait out the AP with him.

When my husband (then fiance) had his K1 interview, he was put on AP that lasted 8 months (there is a 13 year age diff between us - I'm older). One just doesn't know how long the AP will be.

Ahh I see I thought AP is over at the time of the 2nd interview. Got it now!

My mistake, Purple. I didn't notice that Evans & Flor already had a second interview date scheduled! Yes, their AP will have concluded by then as the CO will then inform him if the visa is approved or denied.

In my case, my husband's AP lasted 8 months before they called him back in for a follow-up interview.

I really don't think it has to do with not being together for 2 years. All the interviews that came before you, they were not together for 2 years at the time of their interviews. Most k1 visa based on my observance most times are less than 2 years of meeting. If that is the case I am screwed.

No, Flor, it has nothing to do with being together less than 2 years. The Consulates in West Africa - particularly Nigeria and Ghana - are notorious for "testing" the bonds of "red flag" relationships and if they can't find a blatant reason to deny, they will find any nit-picky excuse to delay the visa approval - the rationale being that the couple won't be able to comply, thus failing to meet the CO's requirements for the visa. Some couples go on AP for a very long time and they do a home visit to make more verifications of the relationship; some couples are asked for a specific format of their call record details and even though they have all the call records, the CO might give them a hard time and want them to bring call records in another format. The list goes on and on.

In your case, the CO decided to make the Western Union receipts the sticking point. I feel strongly, that because of the high level of immigration fraud, these Consulates play a lot of head games to see if the relationship is real. You'd be surprised at how many relationships do NOT pass the test and fall apart because of these delays.

Take heart that you're almost there. You'll give them what they want and your fiance will get his visa.

Good luck! :)
