P.S.

Let your Wife know the good news ASAP

even though there is 10 hours of time difference and Keep us Posted!:star:

I agree with Kelly.

I think you two are over the biggest step and that's the interview. Baris, are you working now in Adana or are you still working at the Ports? Keep busy and time will move faster.

If you watch that clock, time seems to crawl at a snail's pace!

Mari

PS: I'd be calling until they knew my voice on the fone! LOL LOL LOL

Morning Baris,

You and Kadir must be on the same ugly schedule as he woke me up at 355am this morning. LOL lol... really good to hear his voice first thing though. He's still on usaf base iraq, working. It's good for him to stay busy there and since he's on base, he's relatively safe. Since we have time between now and the NOA2, it keeps him busy.

Good you watch movies. In fact, you're right about using media (television, music, movies) to learn another language. To learn to speak Turkish, I listen to Turkish radio online; Best FM -- Istanbul (I think). I also have copy of the music in the car so I can learn the voice inflections and accent. I still have an island girl accent at times though. I can pick up languages fairly quickly if I hear it all the time.

Baris, did you already finish your Army service in Turkey too? Or, will you defer because of school? It's good you're learning all kinds of subjects, and English is important here so you can work when you're allowed to legally. I have few Turkish friends here in San Francisco, and they can't get work because their English skills are so limited. They have been here 2 years now, as the wife --- my friend, we just filled out the documents for AOS for them. So practice your English as much as possible and not just speaking, but writing also. It's super important for your future here.

Wow your dad has a farm and grows Karpuz! Now in Turkish: Baban Yani bir çiftlik ve mısır ve karpuz büyür! Iyi! Onun çiftliğinde çalışmak ister misiniz? Ben Adana'da iken, herhalde onun üretmek bazı yedik!

Probably my writing skills need work here Baris, but I'm working on it. I have a hard time getting the sentence structure properly.

I'm going on my 2nd cup of coffee now. I really need to get back to sleep but I can't. It's already 630am San Francisco time, and I need to walk the dogs... I think its raining today a little bit. That means, long coat and Ugg boots.

Well since tomorrow is Friday, you cannot call the Embassy to get clarification, SO do exactly this and then relay this message to your wife just the way I am telling you and is as follows:

Strongly suggest to you, to tell your US-Citizen Spouse, to call in to the DOS Hot-line (IN USA) and inquire for 'case status'. Have him/her do that once every three days, and ask each time -

'Is the case file on AP?' (sometimes ignorance is bliss)

'When will the visa be issued?'

Then ask for the last 3 prior case file status updates, with date/time stamps.

I know, this sounds tedious, but -

there will be different answers each time the US-Citizen Spouse calls in ,

and finally, the last one to 'watch for' is 'Visa Issued'

SO melbar... get busy!

When did the Embassy have you pay the application fee of $404.00? Was it before or after the interview?

Thanks!
