Card expires 05/20/2012

That means I'm able to drop removal of conditions forms in the mail on exactly 02/20/2012 or I can actually mail the forms after 02/20/2012?

You will be fine if they receive the documents on 02/20/2012! Just to be safe mail it after that date and you will have no big issues. Also, you do get a NOA1 a week or so after you apply, this extends the validity of your green card by a year.

Yes, as long as USCIS receives the application between 2/20/2012 and 5/20/2012 then you should be safe...
