Hey guys,

Thank you so much for the response yesterday. Can you believe that when I arrive home last night, NOA2 is in my mail!!!!! I just mailed my I-129F application July 31 and I receive NOA2 already!!!!!!!

Back to questions, what do I do now? Can I do something to prepare? When I prepare my future paperwork, should I date my paper couple weeks in the future and sent them to my girl?

Thank you for all your support!

Congratulations!!

These answers still apply.

Your petition will be sent to the NVC who will forward it to your fiancee's Embassy. She will receive packet 3 and should be prepared to fill out the forms within it. They're all online with the exception of her checklist. You have to complete an I-134 and send it to her along with copies of all of your NOAs/RFEs (if applicable). An updated letter of intent wouldn't hurt either.

She has to have her medical done and has to provide police certificate(s)...

Lots to do....

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

Congratulations on your NOA2. That was super fast indeed. You never got an e-mail with the approval?

You can now head to the Foreign Embassy forum for your next steps, and read the guides for the affidavit of support.

It contains info on what to expect after the petition is sent to the consulate in Rio.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Great job Mew! One question though, why was your Dr. Appointment $300.00 American? It says it is not to exceed $100.00.

I wasn't responsible for that piece of info. The doctor appointment can't exceed one hundred dollars. But I guess the person who put that info there was referring to the amount to be spent with the doctor appointment + exams + vaccine shots. It really varies though. Some people have health insurace to cover the blood exams and the X ray, some don't. And it varies according to the city you live in. In São Paulo, for example, everything is extremely expensive, much more so than it is in Rio.

CONGRATULATIONS!! Wow, I wish all of us post-March people were all filing with Vermont...

May the steps ahead be just as quick and trouble-free. :)

January 2004: Met Laurent at the Bibliothèque nationale in Paris

February 2004: We became an actual couple

January 29th, 2006: I left France to return to the United States--AWFUL to say goodbye!

June 2006: Finally convinced Laurent that a K-1 visa would be more time-effective than trying to get an H-1

August 1st, 2006: The K-1 petition is finally in the mail and on its way to Nebraska...WooHoooo!! And yes, I remembered to attach the check! :-)

August 3rd, 2006: USPS online tracking shows that my petition (sent certified) was received at the NSC at 5:05am

August 14th, 2006: NOA1 received USPS!! (I-129F recv'd at CSC: 8/4; NOA date: 8/10; last touched: 8/11)

October 2nd, 2006: I MISTAKENLY thought we had an approval...False alarm...Back to waiting...

October 3rd, 2006: TOUCHED!!

October 4th, 2006: REALLY AND TRULY APPROVED!!! Email notification lists 10/3 as the NOA2 date.

Later that same day: TOUCHED...AGAIN! Hope that means I'm in a cozy box and moving to NVC this week...

October 10th, 2006: Received official NOA2 via snail mail.

October 19th, 2006: Case received at NVC!! AWESOME!!

October 20th, 2006: Case forwarded to Paris!! DHL says two shipments were headed that way. Must be in there somewhere...

October 27th, 2006: Received official receipt letter from NVC via USPS.
