Hi All,

We have been looking and working at getting a visa for about a year now.

We have had a few setbacks with regards to my father (our sponsor) losing his job and then getting a new one but on less money so now have to do all the forms again with new monies etc.

My husband (uk citizen) is now trying to get a police check but due to work travel needs his passport and docs, therefore cannot send away for the police check. Can you tell me what he has to do as our local police station in Surrey, say that we have to send off our proof of ID for the certs as they will not do it themselves at the station now.

many thanks,

A

sorry if message a bit odd but doing at work without people seeing lol

I'm a little confused about your request. He should not have to send his passport anywhere.... copies of all of the pages, perhaps, and/or a copy of his birth certificate.... Here's a link that might help, otherwise, you'll have to make your question a little more clear.

I had the same info, I just picked up the application form this week and it does say on there you are not allowed to send in photocopies, it has to be the orginal document. It did however say they send it back to usually the same day as recieving it.

Is there no way you could pop a note in with it saying you need it for work? You dont have to give it up for the 40 days they say it takes to come through.

My wife needed a police check as she lived in the UK for a period of time. The form says you need to send originals but this is not current. I spoke to a person in the center that processes these and she said that you can now send photocopies. This is what we did and we have my wife's certificate in hand
