Mari, we were suppose to have the wedding July 9th and I would take vacation the next 1 to 2 weeks and we would road trip to SF then to Disneyland etc. I also have a brother in So Cal. we would visit and stay with. Take I-395 East of the Sierra Nevada's, to Alturas, over to Crater Lake, home. Unfortunately I was thinking that Jenie Bee would arrive mid to late June, I didn't understand the visa process or dealing with USCIS etc..

Now that we have the RFE I am thinking Jenie Bee will arrive mid July, kind of throws things off. Also my company made a new rule at the end of last year No vacations August & September. So if the wedding is in August or September it will be back to work on Monday.

So to be honest it has been quite a long week waiting on the RFE letter to know what they are looking for and coming to the reality that the July 9th wedding was a little to optimistic. I have been going over the I-129F and supporting evidence looking for errors, the only red flags I see is that I took my own passport pictures and they are questionable also my divorce papers look "cheezy" to me and I did not send the originals. Also I had trouble getting Jenie Bee's address into the provided spaces so I put a label over each place asking for her address, that made it quite clear.

Ok come on, you know I am like the dino in Toy Story (in panic mode) waiting for the RFE letter 'WHAT IS IT!!!" :o

Lee, don't lose hope yet for your July 9th date. If you get the Evidence in ASAP then you might see the NOA2 fairly quick (like a week or two after they get it). When they get it at NVC, evidently, things are said to move much faster from there.

You said your Divorce papers look cheezy: All you needed to send in was the Judgment of Dissolution. This is the finalization paper signed by the Judge, dated and has the County & State Seal on it --- seal is usually in purple or coloured ink. Make a FEW colour copies of this so the Seal shows up clearly. Do not write on the front of this, or anywhere there is print [ if you have to send it in again]. Only write on the back of the document with the WAC# and your names: Petitioner/ Beneficiary.

If you are unsure of the "label over the area" where JB's addy was suppose to go, prep a new form or letter and CLARIFY Address. Then, attach the corrected form on top of the one with label and write a brief statement, which you sign and date, to be 'true and correct". ASK if you don't know how to word a sworn statement. MAKE COPIES!!

*** NEA (GSummit) --- Do you think that Lee should just write an Affidavit of JB's correct Address and then attach that to the original REF Document that he put labels on? Thoughts Please?

Lee, your passport fotos should be done properly as directed on the USCIS instructions 2"x2" or, 5 x 5cm's... Same. Costco or Sams does them as well as Walmart and they cost very little; I think about $5-10 bucks. It's not worth it not to take every precaution and poise ourselves prudently when it comes to our Visa and being away from our Bride/ Groom (as you can see now if that was what the RFE was about) .

OK Rex, you got your homework cut out for you now... get with it! ROLLLLL with it, it's going to be OK

Mari

PS: Lastly, if you have a scanner, or maybe go to Kinko's / FedEx copy store: Take scans of actual documents that you did send in, or will send in. This is what I did and I cannot tell you how many times I went back to look over and check our papers if I had thought I missed something, or had a question of how I answered something, etc. Also, then if any of our documents or files 'get lost' (GOD FORBID), then you can easily print off an extra copy of the exact form you had already sent in! I think I made 3 duplicate, exact files: One for him, One for me and One for USCIS.

WOW Talk about never taking for granted anytime you get to 'see or talk with' your groom/ bride....

OMG I am in HAPPY TEARS!!!!

I just got to see Kadir on the WEBCAM for the first time in 7.5 mos since he's been on AF base in Iraq!!!! He looks a little bit fuller in the face... all that American food I guess. I just couldn't believe my eyes... he's so so handsome.

Really missing each other now more than ever. This is very different from the rest of you who get to see your Askim everyday on cam. Military doesn't allow civie contractors for security purposes. OMG I have never been so so grateful for just those few minutes today.

I am now in la la land....

Kadir Askimsin... when you do get to read this one day... I love you.

I am so happy reading your post Mari!! :luv:

It reminds me, yesterday, when the consular officer asked me when was the last time I saw my fiance, I said last October, then he said Oh so you haven't seen each other for a while huh, then I was like I KNOW!!!! :D

About my POE, it's LAX... I actually thought I would choose SFO if I had a choice, but there was only one left :o

In Japan, we are about to have the big holiday season called "Golden Week" and it's from 29th to May 8th, and around that time all the airfare is ridiculously expensive, so we avoided and got a flight on 21st :P

I don't even know how I can get everything done and pack everything by 21st, as I am working until 20th...gah!

Hey Happy to see you got to see your beau...I am in the military and Hongxia and I met while I was on my deployment. I know it is not easy not being able to see each other all the time, but it makes the times you do see each other all the more special. Helps to strengthen your relationship and you never take any moment with each other for granted. :) Happy for you

I think the affidavit would be helpful. Also if there is any proof of address (utility bills, lease, etc) to attach as exhibits to the affidavit, it would go further in proving address. Good luck!

Ai, Congratulations on that Interview Approval! I'm dying to hear the questions the CO asked and also about the Embassy you went to. Was it super crowded with candidates for the different Visas? Esp. now since the natural disasters. Thanks for the note today for me too! Love to you sistah, Mari.

Major Tom!

Thank you for the note and I really believe this distance does make a huge difference when it comes to being grateful, or the appreciation we have for our spouses. Believe me, I don't think any one of us will ever forget this time apart from them and how much meaning it adds to our futures. Really there is no effort wasted on this path.. nothing.

Salute to you,

Mari

PS: We are still waiting for your recipe. LOL HURRY up.

Glad to see you with HAPPY TEARS!! And what a great chance for him to be able to get on a webcam. Such a treat and being apart does suck, and even the military has lots of times where there is no webcam, email, or internet access. I was in that situation for 4 months last time I was in Iraq.. really sucks!!!

Has to have been a great day for you today!! :) :)
