They are awesome aren't they? Where at in SA did you stay?

We spent a couple nights in Johannesburg with Byron's brother, several nights in Klerksdorp with his parents and sister, and one night in Rustenburg to go to the Pilandersburg Nat'l Park. I got to play with elephants and baby lions and cheetahs - such an experience!!

Ola and Nea (Gsummit)... I bet you have a good recipe for pounded yams or puff puff's right?! lol I just called my Nigerian sister (from fellowship) and asked her for the yam recipe! They think I am crazy because I don't eat it with the soup, I eat it with the stew ... that hot one that makes me sweat beads down my face. They make me sit by the fan now when I eat because they say, "Baba Tunge! Sistah Mari, she gonna faint" lol lol ... I haven't learned to perfect that darn stew recipe because every Nigerian I ask how to make it, procrastinates and they move back home to Nigeria and then I get nothing! LOL So since Ola is COMING TO AMERICA... you can't run from me and must share recipe (to represent all of Nigerian cooking at its best!)

Thank you Ola for posting (finally). I always wondered who beuatifulnpoppi was! How did you both come up with your ID names?

Mari

PS: Have either of you tried Turkish food yet? How about Filipino cuisine? Mmmmmm

Mari, you are a miracle worker! :wow: I've been begging this man for recipes for weeks and you got further than I did in one post. You must teach me your secrets or I will be bugging you to help me when he is being hardheaded. The story of the ID name - GSummit came from a friend of mine jokingly asking me when the gsummit would commence as he knew I got on skype every night to talk to my baby. He said it was a meeting of nations lol. The beautifulnpoppi came from the fact those are our nicknames for each other. I have never tried Turkish food but I have had Filipino food. After the recipes are all gathered we can have international food night at least once a week though.

Hahhahahaha. When I read COMING TO AMERICA from your post, it reminded me of that Eddie Murphy movie. I would like to watch that movie again..lol

Nea thinks some Nigerian foods are too spicy. She still remember how spicy the fish she ate on her first night in Nigeria was.

About our ID names.. she all ready explained that but Im gonna add a little to it. The Group of Twenty Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (G-20, G20, Group of Twenty) is a group of finance ministers and central bank governors from 20 major economies. So they call their meeting Gsummit.

So today we received notice of an RFE but the email did not include what evidence they are looking for, do we have to wait for the hard copy traveling via Snail Mail?? That could be a week or more?? Good Grief!!!

Hang in there. Your hard copy will explain what you need. Will only be two weeks to noa2 from there :)

From what I've seen, they send the RFE out fairly quickly. As soon as they request whatever it is they want, just take it easy and send it back as soon as you can, certified mail. Include your NOA1 [a copy], the RFE copy and whatever evidence. It's going to be OK Lee. Good news is, as soon as they get the stuff they want, they typically approve and the NOA2 is right after that! Yeah!!!

I thought Ola's love for the fashion industry was what that ID was all about... LOL LOL ... "Beautiful in poppy" ... as in men who wear spring colour shirts like pink, coral, or papaya with white pants and loafers... same colours as women's handbags! LOL LOL ... with shoes to match!

Nea,

He posted puff puffs Wow! I don't think it was me... I think it was you and honestly, if I were going to be married to an Esq. I'd kinda have to behave too! LOL (remember that Ola)

You two are a hoot and your new profile pic is perfect!

Love you two to pieces! :luv:

Bec, I am so stressed over this part...

Kadir is still on base in Iraq and I have no way to get documents to him right now. They have no mail system in that country and none for Civilian Contractors on base! I sent a cargo box for his birthday 2 weeks ago. And what do I see when I go to work Saturday at my front door? THAT BLOODY CARGO! I called usps and they told me, "well it went to Iraq, the USAF Base and it came back":o Me: Why!? "because the address they gave you is incorrect and NO SUCH ADDRESS EXIST." I was so pissed at K's Turkish co-worker who insisted "THIS IS THE ADDRESS" when I kept saying, "I am the American, and we do NOT LIST ADDRESSES LIKE THAT!" Now his box is here and I am so glad I didn't send his documents in it ....:crying: When I do speak with that co-worker, I am going to say, "senin beyin aşk" which means [sarcastically] "I love your brain" :bonk: ... rofl!! :bonk:

I really feel that waiting for him to get back to Adana is harder than the NOA2 wait because I am at a standstill when it comes to his papers! And to tell K so, is like lol... like... getting OLA to give Gsummit a RECIPE for our cookbook! ha ha ha ha lol OLA, you know we love you! (Ola reads this every night "beautifulNpoppi" is his name he tells me).

I don't want to be having any added stress over those packets but I am having a COW over the fact that even if we are 1-2 mos out from NOA2, K and I are not fully completed with the documents yet. See Bec? This is the stuff that makes me anxiously want to puke due to nerves. LOL I have to go to yoga today for sure and sweat this out before I bite somebody. Natural stress reliever, exercise and breathe.

Is anyone else having a fit over the document presentation and completing them?

Mari

PS: OH yes, me and my english bulldog can now do the yoga pose called, "downward facing dog" ...together. :D Here is a pic of her eating a rock... but that pose is the same as the yoga one! lol

ARGH! Aggravating and I was hoping luck for that address! Well on the good side of things, at least some Iraqi kid isn't running around with new shoes on!!

So when is he getting his butt back home?? And when this is all said and done, are you posting your beat down on him?? That should be some fun video to watch! LOL

Deep breaths, and clear your mind! Enjoy the Yoga! :)

Shawn,

I am thinking within the next 2 mos he'll get back home. He'll work until we get the NOA2. Then, he's got to get back so we can finish the papers. Everytime I set hiscountdown timer to come home, it always seems to fly by. For example, I don't know where the month of March went. One thing I love is it makes the NOA2 wait a little less painless! Hey Shawn, if you're in So Cal and you're up here in the Bay Area, when our bride/groom are here, let's all go and do dinner and maybe something artsy like SF symphony, or theatre!

So after the NOA2, our file goes to the NVC, right? Then they assign you a NVC#... and fwd our files to the Embassy of our beneficary. Shawn, who gets the NVC#? Do they send that to you and her both, or only you and you fwd that to her so she can put that with her packet she will submit to Embassy?

I got a letter from the NVC with the case# on it. I scanned that and sent it to Sonoko so she could try to get some stuff done early, but no joy. The police wanted the actual packet 3 info from the consulate which she got last Friday. So I don't know how Turkey might do things but never hurts to send a copy of that, but K will also get it from the embassy.

As for the dinner and artsy thing, Sonoko and I would love to do that! The Bay Area isn't too far of a trip and is a place I want to go. I haven't been there since I was about 5 years old and I don't remember ANYTHING! I'm looking forward to it and I hope the time keeps flying for you!!! It will be very exciting when it's over, and then on to MORE paperwork! ugh!

:) Shawn
