Hahah.. Dizzy girl you are 1) super smart 2) super sensitive to our feelings and 3) super awesomly positive!! I *heart* you!

I'm cool with whatever, either way VSC is in it for the long haul!! Together with our other Decemberites tho. I just hope the CSC people don't abandon our thread after they all get their NOA2s. (Don't forget about us!!) haha...

BTW having a horrific day at work, you guys and your positive energy are reminding me that there are bigger and better things to focus on (like my fiance and our wedding!) than work related drama and stress.

have a good day folks!

Wendles! You naughty girl, I should SPANK YOU for that comment! LOL LOL This Decemberite Family doesn't jam off and leave anybody! We're in this together yanno.

Now how about VSC not moving along? What I want to know is why can't they get temporary help , delegate and distribute some of the files along to the bazillion service centers on the East Coast so the smaller offices can get some things moving. I understand we only have 2 K1 service centers... ok ok... yeah yeah, but it's obvious the two (more VSC than CSC) requires some temporary help to catch up on the backlog.

I know we all have to wait and honestly, I must be one of the few here who has anxiety [because I nearly barfed] when I saw we're all under 3 mos wait time now. Sheesh, I'm stressed Kadir won't make it home to Turkey to get the translations and medical records, even though he insures me so. It's mostly because some of his papers not being completed until he gets back! Yesterday, I worked on our file and I am feeling like I can't get anything done. I think its good he's on base but at the same time, frustrating. For example, this morning already we (me and K) had 8 fone signal connects so far. I heard, "can you hear me?" Yes K, I can hear you. "good good" <beep signal over> This repeats 5 times. Then, "Bebegim, no have good signal... boom went off ... have 7 people..." <beep signal over> Next call I get in "ARE U SAFE?" K returns with yes I'm good ( intellectually I knew he wouldn't be on the fone if he wasnt but I had to ask for my own sanity) ... then, he says, I very luv y....<beep signal over> ! DARN IT! And here ends the signal for the day.

LOL this is why I have to have more "girl days for ME" because this plus life will wear me out!

Love to you sistah!

p.s. if i do change it to 185 days (6months and 5 days), then I will make sure to list VSC first. That way no one gets their feelings hurt looking at CSC fly by before they see VSC! :)

Stay positive everyone! we ARE ALL GETTING MARRIED IN 2011!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO

Diz, Well Said Sistah!!! :luv:

I love when Mari has conversations with herself on the thread, it's really funny!!

OK so I don't really think you CSC folks will leave us because we're just too fun and full of resources! Maybe after we all get our visas approved we need to move our family thread to another forum and have a regular update on how the weddings all went, how married life is going, who's pregnant... so many milestones!

Question about NOA2:

Hi all, I've been reading mixed reviews, for the NOA2, do we need DS-156 (2 copies) and DS-156K (1 copy) or only DS-156?

On the fitness challenge, I've been cutting down on sugars (all my teas have no sugar), eating 80% more vegetables, including brown rice and less red meat. I am aiming to lose 4kg by Nov, by ceremonial wedding. I do hot yoga twice a week and will be doing a 1/2marathon in May, which means..i need to start training..im just so so lazy!

I've been watching "My big fat diet" on youtube for inspiration as well.

Hiya Gyselle!

Here is all I could find from your Singapore Embassy since each country has their own additional requirements:

http://singapore.usembassy.gov/niv-apply-step1.html

http://singapore.usembassy.gov/niv-doc-requirements.html

From the SINGAPORE US Embassy:

"Below is a listing of documentation and materials that are required of all applicants, regardless of visa classification:

  • Passport. Current and previous passports issued in the past ten years.
  • Confirmation Page. You will obtain your confirmation page upon submitting your final Form DS-160 and must bring it with you to your interview so that we may access your application.
  • Application Fee. In addition to your cashier's check for the application fee, be sure to also bring sufficient cash or a credit card (U.S. or Singapore currency or major credit cards only - no checks or NETS) for any visa issuance fees, which vary by nationality and visa category. Please see Step 2 of How to Apply for information about fees and fee payment.
  • Photo. You should bring one photo on a white background for each applicant in case the photo you uploaded with your Form DS-160 submission does not meet quality assurance standards. Your photo must have been taken within the last six months and must measure 2 inches x 2 inches (5cm x 5cm), with the face looking forward, against a white or off-white background, on photo paper.
  • Court and/or Police Records. Applicants with arrest/criminal records must provide a copy of their court and/or arrest record and a copy of relevant laws/statutes (including cases that ended with an acquittal or pardon) and an English translation of those documents. In the event that there was no trial, bring a letter in English that explains the circumstances of the arrest. NOTE: Those who do not have arrest or criminal records do not need to provide any such documents."

At the Interview: (see this notation from embassy):

B. Document Check

  1. Once you arrive at the waiting room of the Non-Immigrant Visa section, please take a queue number. You will need this number throughout the interview process.
  2. Your number will first be called by the intake counter (typically at window #2. Please go directly to the intake counter when your number is called to submit your documents. Your documents will be checked at the intake counter. Please make sure documents are placed in the specified order (click here (PDF 72.9KB) for a printable chart showing the specific order). Please do not use staples or put any stickers on your forms or documents. If you fail to put your documents in the specified order or have incomplete forms, your interview will be delayed.

Non-Immigrant Visas

General Information(for Singapore US Embassy)

<H2></H2>All visa interviews at the U.S. Embassy in Singapore are handled on an appointment basis only. Individuals seeking general information about U.S. visas or needing to schedule a visa appointment should visit http://www.ustraveldocs.com/sg or you may call 800 8523 800 (8:00 am to 8:00 pm) from Singapore or 214 571 1600 if you are in the United States. You may also email your questions to support-singapore@ustraveldocs.com.

Gyselle,

I'd have to recommend you call or write them because the embassy site says they treat your Non-Immigrant Visa like an Immigrant Visa, and then I can't find the EXACT Fiance document requirements to answer your question. Hence, why I put the Singapore Gen Info above. And when I look at the link they give you on the official site, I get "apply for US Visa"? Nothing on there stating Fiance Visa Requirements. I looked on VJ Singapore thread for Embassy info. & the information is SO OLD (2008) that I am certain there are better updates somewhere else.

http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Singapore&cty=Singapore < Maybe outdated since it was posted in 2008.

This is the USGovt site for fiance K-1 Visa requirements: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_2994.html

On a personal note: This & any other documents that Ankara Turkey requires is what we are obtaining. For instance, Kadir must bring in his Army discharge papers and Turkish nationals must also submit a Supplemental Non-Immigrant Visa Application (DS-157). This is why Bec suggested we all check what our beneficiary's embassy is requesting.

Sorry, I couldn't find what you were asking about, but I hope this might help you.

Love ya,

Mari

So... I put the letter in my desk .... unopened.

Congratulations Kiwibird!

Dizzy, I think the more realistic countdown (however depressing!) is better in the long run. I will still have Blake on the phone on the regular once we hit 5 months though :P

Does anyone else feel like they still have a long wait even after NOA2? I notice everyone acting more like oh NOA2 and then we'll be together so soon! But it might be up to 5 months more for me (and anyone else filing in Montreal - Lise?) after that! (Although I hear there are lots of cancellations for interviews so I could always get an earlier date if I watch the list like a hawk, which I definitely will be!!)

VSC is giving me major anxiety, but certainly it can't get much slower? I think its time they realize that they need to figure something out and get a little extra help!

Lise is right Christine, don't give up hope yet. Sometimes I check the next available interview date in Montreal and it's in 2 weeks, and other times I check and it's 4 months (I just checked again and currently the next available time is 2 days from today!). It's so all over the board, I wouldn't stress about it just yet....let's get those NOA2s from VSC first!

How do you check the next available interview date? I've been stalking the New Delhi consulate and can't find any information in regards to dates for the K1 or K3 visas.
