Please add us to the list

29th December NOA1

Hi Guys,

I didn't want you to think I was ignoring you. I'm not! However, you are not a December Filer. The December Filers all have an NOA1 Hard Copy dates in the month of December. Your NOA1 Date Hard Copy is in January, so you are a January Filer. While I adore you and think you're awesome and definitely want you to hang around as an honorary Decemberite (like our friend KiwiBird - A september filer), adding you to the list will skew the December data and make the timelines inaccurate. Unless your NOA1 HardCopy is December, I'm afraid I can't add you to the list.

You are more than welcome, however, to wait it out with us. I'd love to have you around!

xo.

Oh by the way everyone! let me tell you a.. not so fun story that happened to me a week ago.

As you all know by now. I am not an Irish citizen. I'm from Sweden. So I had my parents send me my original birth certificate and also the police records from Sweden "Finally done with that yes!"

And he sent it in a regular white envelope so the post office doesnt know that its important mail.

Anywho!

I track my mail just to see if it arrived safely to my home in Dublin. and to my concern it said "Sending failed."

I instantly called and emailed the post office in Sweden to ask what was up. and since the mail was already abroad they didn't have an update for me.. so i called the Dublin post office..

this is the answer i received

"We didn't put your mail in the letterbox because no one opened the door when we knocked on it.... ????????????"

My instant reply was "So... you didn't give me my mail because I was not home to receive a REGULAR white envelope that i receive WEEKLY from work. "looks exactly the same" Because I was not home at 11 am on a WEDNESDAY ?? when on my door you have a mail drop that the mail would easily fit into?

"Yes that's correct.. we we're going to send it back to Sweden since no one opened the door. Would you want us to hold it for you? You would need to come by our headquarters with a photo I.D. and the tracking number.

This was a week ago. I am still in New York for another week. I do hope that they keep it for me until i get back!!

such a hassle I can't believe it!

If my papers that i received wasnt signed by the police etc.i would just scan it, but I need the originals.

Just imagine when they decide to send packet nr.3 -.- Oh lordie lord

Just imagine when they decide to send packet nr.3 -.- Oh lordie lord

I don't know if this is an option in Ireland, but whenever I'm expecting a package that I know they won't leave unless I sign for it, I leave a note for the postman or package delivery man stating that I am unavailable to sign and to please consider this note my permission to leave the package. The delivery person takes the note and leaves the package, no issues.

As for Packet 3, a lot of countries put the packet on their consulate website and just let you download it and bring in the print-offs if you want to bypass waiting for it in the mail. If this is an option in Ireland, you could print it now and get all of your required documents together now and as soon as you have a case number from the NVC and confirmation that the embassy received your case, just drop your homemade Packet 3 off.

My fiance and I are doing that because India has a horrible mail system. You have to write things like "near the Dr's chamber" and "behind the apartment complex" or "the former house of..." as part of the address for the postman to be able to find you.

Good luck!

Decemberite List Question: VSC Decemberites

Hi VSC petitioners...

A question for you. We all know we are looking at mid-june to mid-july approvals at VSC. My question - would you like me to update the list to show this wait time to NOA2? Or would you rather I kept it at 155 days to show when we will be over the posted processing time (5 Months)?

I see benefit in both...one, after 5 months you can start contacting your officials to get their help. two, if I pushed it to at least 6 months wait, the chances of successfully getting something done at VSC (i.e. service requests) would be higher.

Up to all of you.

xo

p.s. if i do change it to 185 days (6months and 5 days), then I will make sure to list VSC first. That way no one gets their feelings hurt looking at CSC fly by before they see VSC! :)

Stay positive everyone! we ARE ALL GETTING MARRIED IN 2011!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO

Hahah.. Dizzy girl you are 1) super smart 2) super sensitive to our feelings and 3) super awesomly positive!! I *heart* you!

I'm cool with whatever, either way VSC is in it for the long haul!! Together with our other Decemberites tho. I just hope the CSC people don't abandon our thread after they all get their NOA2s. (Don't forget about us!!) haha...

BTW having a horrific day at work, you guys and your positive energy are reminding me that there are bigger and better things to focus on (like my fiance and our wedding!) than work related drama and stress.

have a good day folks!

I just know it helps to see something moving. That's why i love count downs! Gives you something to look forward to! I also know that only leaves 12 (count 'em) 12 weekends to NOA2. That's only 12 weeks to get to ideal dream wedding dress wearing fitness! That ain't nothin'!!!! And time will FLY after that we will all be so busy getting our significant others with us.

Time is runnin' out, folks!!
