Well hello everyone, it's been a while since I've been on here and I'm trying to get more involved in this website and let me say this forum and all of us Dec filers are awesome. So much info, help, and motivation on here!!!

Before I go on.. Bec_Dipu I also grew up in Biloxi!!! I miss it there too, although a lot of people's parades got rained on my dad told me! Sucks, but still a party I'm sure!

Well I just got back from visiting the most beautiful woman in the world (at least for me!) and I gotta say she is SMART! We did a lot to get ready for her visa and interview and I thought I was going to school her up on this but instead she schooled me! Sonoko and I make such a great team and I still patiently await her arrival to the USA permanently! Thankfully we have sites like VJ, and she has several friends that have already been through this process that has been so great.

The other big news is that we did some initial planning for our wedding!!! Both of us being thrifty, we decided a small backyard wedding at our best friend's house and near my redneck family in Georgia for Oct 1. I'm also planning 3 weeks during this time to show her America since we will be going from CA to GA... first stop, The Grand Canyon (by request!) Then early next year we are planning to go back to Okinawa to do a ceremony there for her friends and family that cannot come to the US for that ceremony.

So here we all are... still patiently waiting and IT SUCKS! I have a co-worker who submitted a K-1 for his Filipino Fiancée in October and still have not gotten an NOA2. Patience pays off! Also has anyone gotten more info/confirmation on the rumors of some in the past month or so getting an NOA2 in 25 days or so?? Doesn't sound legit to me, but if it's true WOW, I wish it were us!!

Alright ladies and guys, hope to hear back from everyone!! I know there are some of there are some other Japanese filers in here, are any of your fiance(e)s in Okinawa? If so, I would like to get them in touch with Sonoko so they can try to keep each other sane on their side of the world!!

Chat with everyone later!

Shawn

Welcome home Shawn!!

I was lol'ing at Sonoko schooling you regarding the USCIS! Ha ha... get used to this, she's a smart cookie and it won't surprise me if she teaches you a few things Captain! <The Girls , aka: BRIDES, are smart around this thread :dance: just know that for your own good lol>. She sounds like she's going to be a great addition to the US of A! Incidently, my parents and siblings lived on base in Okinawa (long time ago); I wasn't born yet, darn it!

So you're planning the WEDDING! Weeeeeeeeee!!!! Did you get my email so you could give Sonoko the wedding links? October 1 sounds like a great date! And then you will have another in Okinawa too? We're marrying at one of the Venues I'm reviewing with a really small guest list, like 30 or less. We were going to also do that for K's side of the family but I'm thinking now we'll broadcast on internet so they can see it. Then, later go there and have small reception (NOT WHOLE VILLAGE). lol. Hey Shawn, be sure to check out that Grooms link I stuck on this thread (somewhere... I haven't put it on the Thread Map yet but it's like 15 posts back or so). We wouldn't want you to be Groomzilla!

I am trying not to think about the "waiting pains". If I focussed on it, I'll go crazy here. But I have to say, I saw that 25 day approval and I can only say, good for them... but it stirs up emotions when I think about the earlier filers who are sitting in line.

I'm so happy you & Sonoko are part of this Decemberite Thread!

Hi all,

I tried looking for this already but couldnt seem to find it

As noa 2 is approaching "half way there!" I want to make sure that once they send me packet 3 that i have everything that they need ready to be sent back

Packet 3 Contains: * DS-230 Part 1

* DS-156, Non-immigrant Visa Application

* Information Sheet-Evidence which may be presented to meet the public charge provisions of the Law (Affidavit of Support forms)

* Medical Instructions

* Checklist for interview

* Notice of Readiness

I know where to get DS-156, medical instructions since it's posted in this threat.

Sheet-Evidence I can't say that I know what exactly they are asking for here.. perhaps my fiancées payslips or bank credit?

Check list for interview

Notice of readiness

Perhaps this would also be a good idea to get a "guide" up on in this threat to get everyone up to speed and ready for package 3 ?

And if i have missed this information somewhere then I apologize. Let's just say that working 60 hours a week takes it's toll :]

Hey! My packet 3 is all set and ready to go! We are just adding pictures and flight info as it comes along. Mari did post a beautiful packet 3 in this thread. You'd probably have to go hunting for it now but it's here!

Hi and good morning Sweetie!!!!! :luv:

Wow you have been busy to say the least. And then working 60 hours on top of that? KUDOS GIRL!!! Truly, you're a Decemberite thru and thru! :star:

I'm not sure what sheet evidence is either. If it has to do with Affidavit of Support, then its his tax transcript, or copies of his tax filings. Also, copies of paystubs (I've read the USC needs to send the Beneficiary, 3 mos paystubs and I've also read 6 mos of paystubs. I am still unsure yet). Then, a letter from his employer. I am not sure how this letter works if they own their own business as a sole proprietor; I only know if they are a Inc, or LLC because they are an employee of their own corporation or company. If he states that he has assets on the Affidavit of Support, then he will need to provide proof of such. For example, his life insurance declaration, or if he owns his home -- copy of homeowner documents. If there are any 'bean counters' on our thread, please advise... I can't count. I took my forms to my CPA. LOL

OK, I have to get ready for work!

Love ya!!

Good evening everyone,

Evidently I have too much time on my hands now that Michael is gone back to MN.

I have a guestion for our team...what are your thoughts on marriage preparation courses?

I know some religions make them mandatory while others leave it up to the couple.

Michael and I met with the Pastor and after our discussion he was more than happy

to officate our wedding, so we are set to go. I only thought of the premarital courses when researching MN marriage license requirements, they offer a discount for couples

who have completed 12 hours or marriage prep. Any thoughts???

Lise

Mr. Loxy and I are Catholic. So we had to do a pre-cana and foccus test. At the end we got a cool certificate and a discount on our marriage license!! It's totally worth it. Gets your marriage off to a good start and some of the exercises they did were really heart warming. I really enjoyed it :)

OMG Guys!!! I'm getting SO excited!! 3 months will be here before we know it!!! Those of you at VSC, count on a 6 month average, not a 5 month average and you will be setting yourself up for a lot less disappointment.

When I think about the fact that we're looking at a mid-June NOA2. I'm thinking "Ok, today is March...april...may...jun-HOLY SH*T!!!!" That is going to go by SOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooo FAST!!!! If you are a world traveller (and I'm assuming we all are considering we have international fiance(e)s), you KNOW how fast that flight sneaks up on you especially at the 3 months out mark. We're already in the middle of March for crying out loud!

We're almost at the fast part folks. Stay positive!! Stay happy. START WORKING OUT cause man o' man is it coming!!!

Me? I signed up for POLE classes. That's right. I AM going to be the wedding gift on Mr. Loxy's wedding night. Ow OWWW!!! and knowing I only have about 6 months left to become a pro freaks me OUT! lol

We should start a work out goal!! Do you guys want to?? That would be fun! It can be based on inches lost or lbs lost and we can check in daily!!

December 2010 K1'ers....

We have 2 Thread Family Members from Japan.

They are:

1. NEKO: USC is Sean, and his Beneficary is Ai

2. USMCAviator: USC is Shawn, and his Beneficiary is Sonoko

Due to this natural disaster that has devasted some of Japan early this morning, let's remember them and their families and offer any positive support we can as both Sean and Shawn await news to hear from their Brides. In fact, just as we did for the New Zealander's earthquake not long ago, let's remember ALL OF OUR JAPANESE FRIENDS.

Thank you,

Mari
