I'm one of the few Decemberites still waiting for their NOA2 so I wish I was making plans to go in for my medical or interview. Instead I'm still waiting to see if my petition fell behind the fridge in the lunchroom or something. We got an RFE acknowledgement from VSC in mid May. In a few days, it'll be one full month since they acknowledged that they got our RFE response. We missed one checkbox on our forms. I'm really sad that one silly mistake sets us back a month and probably more because Vermont is not approving RFEs at any sort of logical pace. And I am always afraid that they have forgotten about us and will never approve us. I guess that's a lesson learned for us to always check and recheck our paperwork until our eyes bleed because it is a really crappy feeling to be left behind.

Are any other Decemberites waiting on RFE responses still checking this thread? Or Decemberites who haven't heard anything regarding their petition yet?

Tim and Mav got their NOA#2 last week I think so, you may be the "lone ranger" so to speak of the Decemberites. I am sorry this is taking so long but it has to be any day now, hopefully today. Have you called and bugged them I hope? The day that I received NOA #2 I had called to check the status at about 10:00 AM, then at 4:30 PM the same day I received the text and email. Coincidence? Hmmmm

Good Morning Everyone!

I was able to make Sarma (stuffed grape leaves with a buckwheat/pearl barley/fresh herbs & 7 spices -- a nice filling mixture). I did something called, Etli Kuru Fasulye (beef cooked till it falls apart with red beans, chard, yellow bell pepper, onion, garlic, pomegranted molasses and spices). I made a pilav (that's just rice with lightly toasted orzo pasta). Lastly, my Pilaki (an olive oil dish using white beans with potato, carrot, onion & fresh dill--- a "mezze" -- served before the main course, rm temp or cold).

These are the things you have on hand? I have blueberries, two yogurts, pickles, soup and salt on hand. We lead very different lives.

Hopefully that NOA2 appears soon. We haven't attempted to call yet because I'm the beneficiary and my fiance works a lot of crazy hours with no breaks in between. We figured we'd give them the 60 days they said it would take when they got our RFE. 60 days is a ridiculous amount of time for what is essentially one missed checkbox. But then, an entire month is a ridiculous amount of time for a checkbox too. Maybe I'll try calling after 30 days is through, which is coming up very soon now. But I suspect they will just tell me to wait the full 60 days. It's all so dumb. :(

LOL you know I love to cook Becs! What is the definition of a Foodie? Do I fit in that?

SIXTY DAYS FOR THEM TO LOOK AT AN RFE???? omg.... and for a checkbox? That is ridiculous. I agree! Call daily and you know what? Heck, delegate somebody like Rex (Lee) to help you... he's in law enforcement of some sort. LOL LOL Maybe he can strong arm a tier 1 robot to do something other than read something for frequently asked questions by people like us. lol

That response to your RFE must be on it's way! Anyone else still waiting for NOA2? Dizzy... what's our Decemberite Timeline look like these days for the ones still in Blue or Green?

Love,

Mari

Young has nothing to do with it, Lise! Determination and straight up CRAZY has everything to do with it.

We're planning a wedding, going through immigration AND buying a house (building it from the ground up). Trust me, I want to kill myself every day. Life so sucks right now

I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels like a lunatic. After this whole immigration process, my house seems to be the most stressful. We dug the basement almost 3 months ago, and we're ALMOST at the point where all the water has dried up and they can start pouring the foundation (and as I type this it's going to start raining in PA, cause that's the kinda luck we seem to have). Have you guys started building yet? Or are you still in the initial stages?

Piefre, as the beneficiary you can call too you know? Adam works in insurance and things have been crazy for him with recent tornadoes that have gone thru the area, so I call or it would never get done. They are always really nice to me, in fact when I called on Friday the lady told me that she'd had a ton of calls from Canadians that day. I'd say just keep calling for updates, if anything maybe it will make them look at the RFE to get you to stop calling :)

Oh, I didn't know I could call too. Does it count as a long distance call? What's the number anyway? Lol. I will start calling when I hit 30 days until I get that approval. Seriously, 60 days for a missed checkbox is really dumb. I know it was dumb of us to miss it in the first place but still 60 days is just ridiculous.

Ugh, that is just ridiculous to have not heard anything after all this time. Can I ask what service center you were sent to?

I remember your husband emailed and told me that you are already married and you filed an IR-1/ CR-1 back in November??? Your case is a TOTALLY DIFFERENT CATEGORY from the Fiance Petitions, the I-129F's...

Maybe you should check out the I-130's thread to see if any of them can help you in your category.

Good Luck Terry!!

Terry and her husband are already married and are processed after the NOA2 at the NVC . Much more differently from the I-129F / K1 Fiance Visas. If her husband can come, he will already have his Green Card which is different path from us, as we still have to apply for LPR at AOS.

Please don't wait 60 days to call. When I called the NVC to check as our case was overdue, the lady told me please call back in 2 weeks. What? 2 weeks? :protest: I was very polite, said "have a good day and I will talk to you tomorrow."

Are you going to Instabul? Or does he have to wait to come see you?

Don't forget about self-care...take some time to lounge, soak up some vitamin D!

I just got back from an adventure with Mariah (5 yr granddaughter) and Nemo (cocker spaniel). We had snacks down by a river, Nemo decided to jump in so she got to come home and have a bath to wash off the river ickys lol. It was fun, Mariah always brings a smile to my face. The rest of her family is coming for supper, guess I should get cooking!

I am counting days to see Michael, it has been a long time for us.

Hope everyone is having fun with family and friends before their POE.

P.S. Have you accessed the recipes Mari?

Take care,

Lise

Lise,

You sound like you had a really nice day outdoors! LOL I can just imagine Nemo's fur from the river. Kapua gets happy when she's playing in the water. But you're right about coming home to a nice sudsy bath for them! They smell nice, they're all worn out and they sleep really good!

Yes, we're making tenative plans for travel but only God knows if I can get away from my schedule, Right!? We'd like to have a family gathering to celebrate (pre-wedding since they can't be here). But his brother is also getting married in the month I would arrive ... so.... we might just go to his bro's wedding and then take off and do an early honeymoon instead for a couple days... ALONE! ha ha....

See what happens when 3 brothers decided to engage 2 mos apart from each other!? Chaotic for the parents! LOL

As I've said before, I hate this inability not to confirm and make plans set in concrete.

Love ya!

Mari
