Hey guys I am hoping someone can help me. I just got done finishing off our paper work and am a little confused... It was confirmed our case was received in London on 25th May and I got our case number from a nice guy on the phone, no packet 3 yet, but he advised me not to wait and go ahead and send the forms (Yey!)

However, it states on the DS 156K that the forms must be sent with the police check etc...I thought we were to submit the supporting evidence AT the interview? I was also told on the phone that I would need the police check at the medical, so do I just send an extra copy to the embassy? it also asks for financial information. I am presuming this is my Fiance's financial information, is that correct? I don't have that yet, it is on its way from my Fiance via courier...I'm guessing I need to wait for that before I can submit the paperwork. Is this right?

Also when it asks for proof of engagement, what did you supply? I have photos of the engagement ring and engagement dinner...will that suffice?

Hellooo!!

Bring your police check to the medical. They asked for my fiance's and his medical exam was May 27th. It doesn't say it anywhere in any of the forms, but because of what I had seen here, I asked him to take it anyway. He said it was the first thing they asked for. I believe they give it back, but make copies just in case. You do not need to send any documents in with the K-1 Application forms. You bring all of those documents with you to the interview. Always make extra copies of everything. The financial information is the I-134 filled out by your fiance proving that he can support you. You bring that to the interview as well.

I keep hearing that London doesn't go through your secondary evidence, but just in case we have the receipt of our engagment ring, pictures, flight and hotel ticket receipts/stubs and emails/chat/phone records.

I hope that answers your questions! Good luck. And yes, I agree, don't wait on packet 3. A lot of people don't receive it. So long as you know that London has LOGGED your case and your forms will match up with your case, then send away.

Morning and Happy Saturday from San Francisco!

Finally a quiet morning and I am with my coffee & keyboard in peace. I worked till 8:30pm last night, then patient called to discuss matter which went till fairly late. I figure I would sleep in but that didn't happen either. LOL oh well.

I hope everyone is doing well and from the looks of our posts, it seems we're moving along fantastically! WELL DONE DECEMBERITES! Congratulations to all the Decemberite Fam who are POE status!!!!! Yeah!!!! Now isn't this what we all looked forward to? Incidently, are there any of us who have yet to get the NOA2 based on RFE or some kind of delay?

Let's talk about Recipes... ahem, Lise? LOL How do we download those?

Now let's talk about our Fitness Challenge. How's all the Brides & Grooms doing as we approach our Big Days!?

Brides: Any new beauty tips?

Weddings: Since Wendles has gone missing... lol... see her links from her post on Weddings. I have not effectively worked on ours since we might have to change the date dependent upon POE. I think the hardest part of this process is the 'unknown'. Or, the lack of knowledge when it comes to confirmed dates from the Dept of State or foreign national's government 'policies , rules and regulations' in order for our Sweethearts to get a simple document! It's not even the waiting for me; that I can handle. But how in the world can we plan a darn thing when everything is so ..."subject to change", if you will. All I can say is it is a good thing I didn't put any $$ down on the venue because right now Ankara could delay us as well as the travel dates during a high tourist season. However, knowing what I knew going into this way back when, I also knew that we had to have 2, maybe 3 wedding dates for the just in case. LOL I guess so long as I have my wedding gown and the right photographer? I can groove with the rest.

Lastly, HOW IS EVERYONE DOING WITH THE DECLUTTERING PROJECT that we started back in January??? Tim/Mav... I'm very curious now as to what you have done since you were the one who mentioned 25 years of stuff you have collected! LOL

Wow today is Saturday and my "to do" list has nothing on it but clean house??? lol Sheesh.

Love to all!

Mari

KiwiJen - congratulations!!!!!

I just wrote up a post and then accidentally lost the whole thing! To summarize: I'm probably starting the "Couch to 5K" running program next week, if anyone is interested in joining me as part of the fitness challenge.

The rest of the post was just thinking of how crazy busy I'm going to be starting like the minute I get back to Canada (I get in at midnight, then at 9am I have a dentist appointment for some cavities and a consultation on my crumbling root canal, ugh) but its all very exciting, if though stressful. Good thing I have you guys!

Christine-- I did the "Couch to 5k" last summer-- it was probably the best thing I ever did as far as exercise. It pushed you just enough to advance your stamina and feel good about yourself without getting too tired and giving up. Now I try to run 2-3 miles every other day. I would NEVER be able to do that if I hadn't done the Couch to 5k.. also.. if you don't like the music, you can download other podcasts from the internet with more popular music. I lost over 20 lbs cuz of the running (and dieting a little)!

Hi Mari, I am no help on opening the recipe link..others were able to I sent you a PM on this awhile back.

Wedding....well let me say I have a lot of moments wishing I had not committed to a 'wedding' and just went somewhere with Michael to get married! This visa process does nothing to help brides have a wedding of their dreams in the time frame they give, especially when banking on Montreal. So, despite the planning I am resigned to whatever will be. And yes, I know we are not suppose to make plans prior to having a visa in hand...and yes I know dates can be changed....but changing plans with people who have jobs and live at the other end of the country is not that easy!Nor do I want to go the the justice of peace and have a 'wedding' later...I am only doing this once! So, my two beautiful daughters both told me that they will book flights for the target wedding and if my visa is not in hand we will simply use the time to visit in Canada! The downside is they will not be able to come back for the wedding. So, what will be will be.

Can you sense I am getting frustrated with this whole process?????

I am most certain that you are not alone on that frustration of this process. I have to say that I have been super busy with work and yet, as much I whine about too much of it, I also am grateful it took my focus off the VJ! I'm really at the "Mari point of Threshold" and my nerves ... omg, I am on the last skinny azz neurolgical thread that can physically hold a human together! LOL

Nikola - that's awesome! Kristen_maroc is doing it right now and she's doing AMAZING so that's what got me into the idea again (I had thought about it before but had never actually tried it)

Lise - I know what you mean, we've been through so much crazy stuff planning this wedding..and now we have to do a separate justice of the peace thing since we (in the end needlessly) moved the wedding. AUGH! Now I'm resigned to the '2 weddings' thing, except I still don't know what day we'll celebrate as our anniversary! I could never give up having a big wedding. I hope everything works out for the day you're planning on <3

We're having to do two ceremonies/celebrations - the wedding and reception in Utah in September, then we'll be coming back to the UK at the end of March for a celebration with all my family and friends who can't make it to the US. As it currently stands, on my side in Utah there will be me, my best man, mum, dad, brother - they're the only guaranteed ones laughing.gif If I get up to 10 on my side it'll be a miracle - for Gin's side, if everyone comes to the wedding there'll be about 78 at the wedding, and 183 at the evening reception helpsmilie.giflaughing.gif

One of the joys of being nearly 40, I suppose - my mum was the youngest of 4, so my aunts and uncles are all in their 70s and don't/can't make that sort of journey (and some of them, plus cousins, friends etc) just don't have the funds to pay for the current flight prices (aka rip-offs!).

Derek I agree with calling in daily until you find out what's going on. Were you the one who put in the service request or was that Kiria? I can't remember now.

Anyway, hope you two have a smashing time together!!

Love,

Mari

oh Rallybug you reminded me, we're also doing a celebration in Canada (I've dubbed it the 'pre-ception' since its just like the reception, no ceremony, but its BEFORE the other wedding) for everyone there who can't make it down, and as sort of a going away party. PHEW.

Next month Blake is going to start looking around for a place for us (he lives with roommates right now, but once he finds somewhere good he's going to move in somewhere just for us) and I'm super excited! Everything is getting so close and so real!

Oh and Derek I'm totally jealous! I've always wanted to show up and surprise Blake, but I guess I'm out of time on that one now! I'll have to do the opposite, and surprise my mom sometime.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO envious of the organization and preparation some of you can make. We have almost everything together, but I am worried about two of the critical components for Gina. The police authority will not give her the background until she has an interview date and then only within 30 days of it. This one really confuses and worries me, they will not issue the long form birth certificate until 10 days before her interview date, like it could possibly change. :bonk: We will be desperately waiting on the Honduran mail system, which is not exactly reliable.

Since we need to interview in Tegucigulpa (the capital) which is only accessible to her via a six hour (one way) bus ride, for security I cannot go with her on this. We cannot even schedule the medical until the week we will be there for the interview, since you can only go to 1 of 3 doctors.

If all of that is not enough, Tegucigulpa has an extremely high crime rate, all Americans are targets for robbery and kidnapping, and calling police will only lead to extorsion. The airport landing is also listed as one of the 3 most dangerous in the world.

It's amazing what we are willing to do for love. I would not go through all of this for a million dollars but I will gladly do it for what awaits at the end of our journey.

Our interview is on June 27th and I have EXACTLY the same concerns. I've researched until my fingertips are bloody and there is so much conflicting information and lack thereof on the Honduras Police Certificates! I've heard they take up to 2 weeks, less than one week, and the same day (I'm hoping for the latter). I've heard you need a letter of request and you don't need a letter of request. I've heard you can get them in Tegus only, in San Pedro and Tegus and basically anywhere... I'd sure like some clarification on this as I'm starting to freak out. We're two weeks away on Monday and I simply can't afford to put up my fiance in Tegus for the full two weeks before the interview... He's 8 hours away by bus (La Ceiba).

I do know that the Medical Exam and paperwork can be completed on the same day. Carrasco is "first come, first served" (7 am, M-F), Tome makes appointments 3-4 days in advance... they both can give you the results on the same day. I don't know about the other one yet. We'll probably just go to Carrasco at 6:30 am to be first in line.

I hope this helps... and I hope someone can help me clarify the time frame for and how to get that Police Certificate. I'm about to send Christian to Tegus tomorrow, just to get it done. He'll have to go back home (that's about $50-$80 each way by bus and probably a one night hotel stay at least). He gets motion sickness on the dang bus too... I'd hate for him to have to take the trip twice. But I don't know what else to do!
