Hi all. My packet 3 has been recieved by my consulate. So..i'm now waiting for an interview date! :)

I'm not allowed to send the packet 3 in till my medical, police certs are in.

There is a form to sign that you have collected all the info before you can send it in.

My police certs and medical could not been done till recieved my packet 3.

they all required me to have a copy of the letter, with the case letter, before they will give the items to me.

Our Embassy did not send a packet 3 file... they just sent an eNotification to download it from their site with instructions. I emailed to confirm no further packet and they affirmed the online download. I know every Embassy is different in the way they send out Packet 3. Question: Doesn't each Embassy have the required list designated for that particular country on their home webpage so everyone that is waiting for their Packet 3 doesn't have to wait for the mail?

It's rainy out in SF today. Such a difference when we had a beautiful sunny weekend!

How's everyone holding up?

Mari

Our consulate has a list of papers that are required for the interview that we need to bring with us posted on their website, but they do not allow you into the consulate unless you have the packet 3 letter that they send you.. so even though we can get everything ready beforehand we have to wait for that letter to hopefully show up (Mexicos mail system kinda sucks) Im worried though cuz Em and I rent an apartment but he uses his uncles address as his mailing address because his uncle owns the house and we keep moving so it's easier to have a permanent address to have his mail sent to.. We've had a falling out with his uncles family though and we haven't talked to them in like 6 weeks... I hope they don't start throwing out his mail :(

also- i paid the visa fee online under the wrong passport number I'm holding up but barely haha this is so stressful. I just cant wait for this to be over!!

Hey all,

I was busy with a new job, so I didn't get a chance to update everyone on my case status. We received our NOA2 on 5/19 and I got the case number from NVC yesterday...FINALLY after 5 months things seem to be moving. I hope the momentum is not lost :)

NVC sent our file in the wrong consulate...they sent it to Paris (France, Europe) and I live in French Guiana (French country but in South America) so I wanted to go to the closest consulate in Suriname (South America)

I tried to call the consulate in Paris but they couldn't help at all, the woman just told me the whole process for the K-1 and blablabla...it is not really a problem for me to go to Paris, my brothers live overthere, but I just want to know if they won't transfer it to Suriname or whatever because it will be a BIG delay...

Need to figure this DHL stuff out..

I messaged you, but what sorts of problems are you having with DHL?

I would figure it out rather than sending things this week via Canada Post...especially with their threat of striking this Thursday.

Take care,

Lise

Jamila (M & J) also had a transfer of file to the wrong embassy. She is a Decemberite and maybe you can ask her what she did to have file transfered over.

Good Luck,

Mari :)

Thanks for the message Lise. Yes I did go to that link and sign up but it doesn't automatically take you to explain how to send your packet through DHL (I eventually found it on the sidebar, thats how I ended up booking an interview - I just kept hitting 'continue'! haha). Then once I found the instructions, the PDF page wouldn't load for me so I couldn't really go any further. I ended up sending it today via UPS and they said it would get there on tuesday.

I really hope I did everything right, I'm a little concerned about my photo since it didn't completely 'fit' in that box on the form you need to send two of, but I got it at CVS and it said it was for use with visa applications, so.. fingers crossed!

Hi Aleke86,

I had the similiar issue. My fiance lived in Barbados at the time I filed the petition. Mid process, he moved back to Guyana. I tried to update his address with the USCIS and NVC to no avail-the file went to Barbados anyway. The only way we could change it was for Mark to submit a request to the embassy in Guyana asking them to request a transfer of the file from the embassy in Barbados. It did cause a tad delay but the embassy did transfer the file to the right embassy. He has already submitted his packet and we are now waiting on an interview date.

You can ask the embassy in Suriname what you should do to have your case file transferred from Paris. I actually found the information on the embassy website for Barbados (how to have a file transferred to another embassy) so you can also check on each website to see if there is information.

I hope that helps.

I don't know about your picture box, the picture box on the New Delhi photo instructions page stated that it was 2x2 but it lied. I measured.

Byron got the Embassy packet 3 today (was sent last Thursday according to DoS).

I think it's funny....London Embassy sends the Packet 3 letter on May 26. On May 26 I fax to my HR in Texas for an employment verification letter. Both UK and USA have postal holidays May 30. On May 31, I receive the complete typed out and signed employment verification letter composed and signed from an HR person in Texas. Byron receives his fully automated Packet 3 from about 5 miles from he lives on June 1. I guess I'm spoiled....but seems so odd to me to receive a letter from nearly the same neighborhood a week later....when I get letters from Texas in 2 days (the physical distance to me is like London - Moscow).

I think the stress of this has really been getting to me. My beautiful wonderful fiance has been getting the brunt of my...I guess it could be called K-1 wrath....when I told him that the Packet 3 had been sent last week, I was wholly hoping and expecting him to finish the paperwork today. He didn't. To be fair, he was really busy at work. But also, I went into work early today to copy and finish his I-134 parcel before I had to get to work. So maybe feeling bitter he didn't do the same when he could have sent it today, rather than tomorrow. I don't know about everyone else here, but every single day counts to me.

Argh anyway, thanks for being a sounding board Decemberites....please every one keep on updating! I think it helps keep more than just me sane
