Guys my girl has just broke it off. She said that she can't do the waiting anylonger. How many of you have dealt with this and made it through it?

I think at some point most of us go through this and I call it waiting pains. Although, maybe you can explain to her that you have called the service center (you did this right?) and got a status update. Also, that you are needing her to pick up her document requirements from her country's Govt' Agencies... *(Police Certificate, her birth certificate, etc). *** See NOA2 Packet 3 list located on our thread map*** Keep her busy!! You're so close to some kind of Notice of Action that I wouldn't recommend withdrawing the petition.

Unless there is some other reason [aside the waiting pains] of why she broke it off, I'd talk with her and support her emotional insecurities right now. Keep her busy!! That packet is a lot of work for some people.

Best to you,

Mari

i don't know what to give for evidence! i found a patch ages ago for skype that compiles a call log, who to, how long for etc, so i think i'll print that out as it's more or less only ever him i've video called [other than when my best friend got a new tattoo she was excited to show me and my mum one time when we were sitting opposite each other, lol]. we still have yet to get an engagement ring, personally, i don't see the point in getting one. it just seems like a bit of a pointless expense. i'd rather go straight for a wedding band, which we're going to be looking and possibly ordering when reilly's here. so other than that, i'm stumped. i have photos of january's trip and i'll be sure as always to take lots when he's here. i am a shutterbug! the only other thing i can think of is a photocopy of the card that came with the flowers he sent me on my birthday last month, though my evidence doesn't feel nearly official enough!!

Get this: I sent Kadir a Valentine's Day card with our Engagement pics in there to his parent's home. OK... good. Since he's on base outside his country I figure his parents would just hold that for him until he gets back. Next thing you know his sister calls me and tells me, "Oh thank you for the pictuers!" Me: HUH???? She and the entire family thought that envelope might have had his "Konsolosut" papers and so she opened it! Then, they handed out all our engagement pics amongst themselves! I was pissed! I told her that unless my mail to them has their individual name on it? That only HE opens it! ONLY!!! Then, I told her get all those pictures back and Kadir has to bring them to Embassy when he gets home. "Ohhhhhh OK Mariye... sorry... we will gather them back for Kadir and keep them safe." Me thinking: Yeah *^%$%& I do NOT HAVE TIME TO MAKE MORE COPIES and RESEND THOSE! *it takes 10 days min to Turkey* This morning I was about to add photos but then I just relived that little experience all at once (and without my morning coffee yet too!) lol lol lol .... geeze.

Carrie, aside from our engagement pics and ring receipt copy, I only have fone records, a few colour copies of my cell phone--- our dated texts [all holidays since he's been gone] and congrat letters/ cards from my side of the family.... that's it. We didn't have use of internet and Iraq doesn't have snail mail. So, K will have to add the US Posts Envelopes/ letters I had previously sent him plus the scattered ones while he was away. I front loaded the Initial Petition anyhow, so any repeat would be redundant and unnecessary.

OK, back to work!

Love ya,

Mari

You could have just emailed the pictures and he could get them developed (printed) anywhere. It's the digital age...lol

Sorry to hear this. I agree with others don't cancel out your petition yet, the approval may change her feelings. I have been amazed at the emotional roller coaster this has been so far, and I have not done as well as I would have liked dealing with it. So I can certainly understand, but when the NOA #2 arrives and it will, things will improve. I wish you and her the very best!!

No. No internet on his base for Civilian Contractors.

You're too new around this thread, so you wouldn't know our situation. That's OK. I'll forgive you. lol

Working on my packet 3 forms even though I haven't gotten any mail yet from my consulate.. I forgot how stressful it is to fill in the forms, I'm so worried I'll do something wrong! Even with the thread map I get confused as to what I need (though I think I got it covered by looking at my consulate website..just a few government forms for this first one, yes?) STRESS!! But also major excitement!

Congratulations to our new NOA2s, I am so thrilled that they are coming in so fast and furious these days! Everyone else I'm sure you are any day now!

fishernyalew - Don't cancel your petition yet. Maybe once you guys get approved she will be able to see the end of the waiting and will realize it was just her stress talking when she broke it off.

epic bummer. personally i'd want to be with someone that would wait a lifetime for me. I'd certainly wait a lifetime for my Loxy. Maybe it's something she said in frustration, but there's something to be said for the couple that withstands this process. It's difficult. It's not impossible.

I just did this to my husband today and it was because I could not stand the pain. I convinced myself that the United States is never going to let him come so I wanted frankly to just die. But he was having none of it. Just keep telling her how much you love her. She loves you. She is just in pain.

Setherwyn,

Same thing that happened to us. Case Status is still "Initial Review", no text or e-mail, but last May 6th, he got the NOA2 in the mail. Safe to say, we were both extremely surprised! We called NVC, but it's still too early, and our NOA2 is dated May 3. We'll call again tomorrow. Weird, huh?

This could just be a case of nerves and stress. I wouldn't cancel your petition as it's about to be approved. Talk it through with her and as soon as you get your NOA2, she may be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I'm sorry this happened to you, I hope this is just stress and she'll apologize and be able to refocus her mind because this ride is almost over!

Thank you for your encouragement.

mari & all who have been discussing the evidence, thanks a lot for the ideas. sometimes when you think about providing evidence to strangers about your relationship it makes you think 'oooh that's not convincing enough they won't accept that!' and i have to stop and realise i am in a bloody legitimate relationship so i have nothing to worry about and of course it counts but all this talk of proving it makes it feel almost competitive! LOL

i hope everything pans out right, fishernyalew. the process is stressful. i'm looking forward to putting behind us all the tension bickers that we've been having because of visa stress and missing each other. just laighable, petty things. like last week, we were streaming together a documentary on the theory of parallel universes, and it erupted into this ridiculous argument because he believes how feasible they are and i don't see enough evidence yet, it was very tense and i think we were both feeling a bit overemotional for debate and it turned a bit venomous, cut to the chase at the end i said which i am shamefully still proud of ' WELL MAYBE YOU'RE RIGHT, IN SOME PARALLEL UNIVERSE'. which to date has been my best summer-upper yet. hahaha. we laughed about it after.

it is hard! emotions are so high, especially if it's been a while since you've seen each other. that's why we had to arrange another trip before the k1 process. i pick him up tomorrow at the airport!! i don't know what i'm more excited about, giving him a cuddle, or being at an airport LOL. it's a magic feeling place!!!

lol @ competition. I totally feel ya on that. But then when I read consulate reviews about UK they barely even look through your evidence it seems and they ask very straight forward questions. I think all will be ok :)

I don't think there's anything to worry about in regards to the online. Go by that paper, for sure! it's official!!

And give NVC a little time. It may still be early :)
