I have the same question. Looks like you already have a lot more than me. All I have is some pictures and maybe a screenshot of my facebook page that says I'm engaged...lol

We use IM and Facebook for our conversations (not sure if I want to give them copies of that). Other than that, don't really have much.

I have notarized letters from my parents and grandparents stating they approve of the marriage (I'm the petitioner) and copies of emails between Dipu and my family to show a pattern of communication. Depending on your consulate, family approval can be very important.

If you want a feel for the kinds of evidence required, I recommend reading the embassy reviews for your specific embassy to see why people end up in AP. I found it super helpful in identifying reasons for delay or denial so that we can address them in the interview before they become an issue.

Good luck!

We have all kinds of stuff, paypal transfers, chat transcripts, cell phone bills, airplane and hotel tickets, pictures, we had to do a marriage preparation course that gave us a certificate and discount on our marriage license so we have that too, letters from the priest, information on our wedding. the list goes on and i'm only adding to it. we even have a notarized letter from our jeweler. and i doubt i'll need ANY of it. Except for at AOS :)

Agreed, I have congratulation cards/letters from my grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends. Then K's parents and siblings. I added our Engagement Ring Receipts and Pics of our 'Turkish Nisan". Then the normal stuff which he is going to have to add when he gets home but my US Post letters/ cards to him, I have our phone records only (because remember we don't have internet access while he's on base). I front loaded the initial petition anyways, and I'm not going to put repeated information or evidence there (except our engagement stuff). I added anything else I could find that supports what they're specifically asking for ....First: "Proof of Engagement" ... and then Secondly, ongoing relationship. Bec is right about checking your embassy reviews for what is culturally normal in your Bene's country. I think it's very important to have met the "local" traditions of their country.

I am FINISHED WITH HIS FILE, and now to double check everything again and add or subtract what isn't needed. I want it streamline. So far, the file is very clean and well organized.

I am in a big big BIG rush... gotta jam!

love ya!!

Mari

thanks for the answers guys-- i have some screen shots of when he proposed (when i was excited and announced it on facebook) and some screen shots of people who congratulated us.

We live together so I was thinking of having the landlord write like a short little letter saying we've lived in the apartment together for 1.5 years or whatever too. Most of the reviews I've read from my consulate say that they are really only interested in the financial info but I want to make sure we're over prepared!

I was wondering if any of you filed a service request. I did because we are past our 5 months. I got an e-mail that says they are waiting on background checks and to contact if we do not hear anything within the next 180 days. This crushed my soul. Anybody else get anything like this?

I think I remember Mari suggesting to use our homepade of VJ. Our pastor offered to write a note confirming our intent to marry. Other than that I am keeping a log of our visits since we travel by car and passports are not stamped, recent photos, receipts from wedding planning, receipt from marriage preparation, and my VJ home page. It also seems to me that others who have already had their interviews commented that their new material was not looked at (NOT TO SAY FOR US NOT TO BRING ANYTHING). I didn't put tons of stuff in the first round and am only putting enough to satisfy the requirements this time and of course a new 'letter of intent' and the necessary forms.

i don't know what to give for evidence! i found a patch ages ago for skype that compiles a call log, who to, how long for etc, so i think i'll print that out as it's more or less only ever him i've video called [other than when my best friend got a new tattoo she was excited to show me and my mum one time when we were sitting opposite each other, lol]. we still have yet to get an engagement ring, personally, i don't see the point in getting one. it just seems like a bit of a pointless expense. i'd rather go straight for a wedding band, which we're going to be looking and possibly ordering when reilly's here. so other than that, i'm stumped. i have photos of january's trip and i'll be sure as always to take lots when he's here. i am a shutterbug! the only other thing i can think of is a photocopy of the card that came with the flowers he sent me on my birthday last month, though my evidence doesn't feel nearly official enough!!

Guys my girl has just broke it off. She said that she can't do the waiting anylonger. How many of you have dealt with this and made it through it?

This could just be a case of nerves and stress. I wouldn't cancel your petition as it's about to be approved. Talk it through with her and as soon as you get your NOA2, she may be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I'm sorry this happened to you, I hope this is just stress and she'll apologize and be able to refocus her mind because this ride is almost over!
