Mari also am hopeful that it will be this week. I am trying to prepare everything, I wonder a police certificates because I did 3 month ago, do I have to do a new one?

By the way, my fiance called VSC week ago, and they told him he has to wait until May 20 if there is any information,he must call again.

I can't wait to see all of the December gang in pinkgoofy.gif

.......... Anyday now.... just kick back because this NOA2 wait time was peaceful in comparison to Beneficiary's Packet #3....... But guess what, the good news is when your file hits the NVC? It really goes super fast from there to the US Embassy! Marica do you have everything close to ready? Hey, you know did you check your Embassy to see if they have the list of what you'll need specifically for your interview? Some Embassy's have extra things, some do not. Depends on them I guess. Anyway, let's pray for yours to come this week! Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Love ya,

Mari

Just to give you Decembrites an update. I got my interview appointment date already :) June 21!!! oh now I'm wondering how ready I really am regarding paperwork!

Congratulations!!!!!!!!

That is exciting news! I got my 5 passports photos done, except he printed them in Canadian specifications so has to reprint to the 2x2 US specifications (no extra charge) and I got my police record check done....just waiting for Packet three. Congratulations to all the recent N0A2's and warm wishes for those waiting to receive theirs very soon!

Keep faith, we will all be going to our interviews soon!

Have a great day everyone,

Lise

Does the lack of updates/touches matter at all?

We only had a fondle a week or so after our first filing and then did not have any updates until our NOA2 notice, sending you an extra warm wish for your approval!

I am still working on K's file and I wish to God he would HURRY UP and GET HOME TO ADANA so he can get his medical appointment with the Civil Surgeons! He told me "when month full, I'm coming Adana!" < MARI HAS "THAT :protest: LOOK">. And I am totally MISSING HIM BIG BIG BIG!!! :luv: But first he gets :bonk:

His file is looking very good thus far! Really well organized, and easy peasy to locate information.

I was happy to see that K sent me his clearance for all criminal and court records, and even his fingerprints with photo ID from the Courthouse prior to his leaving last Oct. I thought all I had was his Police Certificates with Archives. Tthat will expire by the time he gets home so he will have to get new one. Probably a very good thing we have all this as his travel outside TR beyond 6 mos, was a long list! I'm glad those were on US bases, and I'm glad we don't have to get Police Reports from those [they're listed on exempt countries for Police Certifs]. I'm sure they have his current base clearance or will have gotten that by the time he gets to Embassy. This keeps me hopeful for the interview; when they work abroad in the Middle East, especially now... the background check can take longer.

Anyway, I'm cruisin' along Island Style!

so I'm already starting to ask those AOS questions because packet 3 is in the bag so naturally i'm moving right along and driving Mr. Loxy crazy. He'll thank me later when AOS is easy peasy.

Here is a post I just put in the AOS forum:

We are a K-1 expecting to adjust status after we get married.

1) I'm confused, do I have to or not have to file I-130? I don't see it in the guides, but I saw it on the USCIS site.

2) You're supposed to file AOS before I-94 runs out? Seriously? What if we plan on getting married on the 88th day? Should he wait to enter the U.S. so we have enough time for marriage plus AOS filage?

3) If answer to number 1 is Yes, do we file the I-130 and I-485 together? Or do we have to wait to file the I-485 until I-130 goes through?

4) I'm guessing soon as honey lands he can file for SS#? I thought I read that somewhere even though that sounds crazy to me.

booyah. if you know the answers now you get brownie points

(praying for the rest of the NOA2s to come through)

2) A bunch of posts on VJ state that technically, you're supposed to file for AOS prior to your 90 days being up BUT as a general rule, it is not required, you just remain out of status until you file. Most people aren't able to file AOS before the 90 days because so many places take 6-8 weeks just to file your marriage certificate and the USCIS knows that so you won't be penalized.

4) I wasn't able to copy the text, but the following link has a section on the K1 SSN process.

Dizzy, DIDO, I have the same questions! Also if we get the SSN after arrival and before the wedding, we will have to turn around and get the name changed on the SSN. Why not just wait until after the wedding to get the SSN??

These are amazing times for sure!!

I got my answers :)

1. we don't have to file I-130

2. just get married within 90 days. file AOS asap

3. doesnt apply

4. wait 2 weeks, then file for SS#.

There ya go. Believe it or not you want to start looking at the AOS process now even before NOA2. You could save some money on those shots and also know what to expect after NOA2.

just sayin ;)
